Well, here's the deal

When someone talks to you about your liver actively dying, there's usually several criteria that you must possess to "enter" the end stage component.

One of those components is kidney function, and your EGFR and other renal function is normal, it's expected that liver disfunction will cause low BUN
Your creatinine, well I'm assuming you have little muscle mass or are possibly a female, maybe malnourished, or maybe a tad older in age.

Your PT/INR, or clot times, is a big ticket item that is a component for ESLD talks. You should have had it done, I'm sure you'll find it.

Your liver cells are able to heal, even after multiple insults, it's just sustained abuse over long periods of time will allow you to enter the gates of ESLD, but think about it the next time you plan on hitting the bottle, all the tiny functions that our livers do that we take for granted, often not even realize, when those fail, your life becomes very miserable very fast

The hospital tried draining fuild buildup on his belly too fast and it overrode his kidneys which ended up shutting up shop. Do you have much fluid on your gut?

I'm just assuming your clot times are normal, your prognosis isn't grim yet.

You stayed sober for your UA, that's mistake number one.
The quickest way to ensure rapid liver failure is to buy a bottle of Tylenol, and suck the entire bottle down with a bottle of booze.
The ensuing death isn't quick though. You will bleed from many orifices, the pain will be severe, the damage will be done and it's very difficult to reverse (if you bitch out and check into the ED, you'll be stabilized "somewhat" with N acetylcysteine, you'll be on a drip for weeks, and you most certainly will be transferred to mental health once you become subacute, have to attend these little therapy sessions, probably have some 18 year old CNA tell you to go to bed and what you can/can't have for dinner, so don't do that if you do want to die).

It's all the perks and damages of chronic ETOH abuse over years, but done overnight
