It's not a custom shop, I got the body off ebay but the paint job is custom shop quality.

It's a parts guitar, the neck is from a 2016 Charvel and has an original floyd rose, jackson tuners and a JB pickup.

These original floyds are no joke, it stays in tune better than anything i've tried.

Bit of a mismatch at the moment. The left side has a g12-65 heritage which is quite dark sounding. The right side is a g12-65 Creamback which is like a greenback. They go quite well together

Very nice combination! Those are great choices for that amp. I lent my 2203 reissue to a friend for a gig and he wouldn't stop bitching about how bright the amp was, then he told me he was running through two Celestion V30's which apparently was not a good match for that amp.

>>729558464
Yeah, it has been great so far, 7 years and counting. Swapped the stock magnets for the standard jb/59 seymour duncan combo and it sounds better than a loooooot of stock guitars that cost twice as much.
>>
>>729559240
Lol i finger pick all the time little bitch. And guess what i have an acoustic but im not that creepy faggot trying to impress people by carrying around a guitar. It takes a refined man to play electric guitar.
>>
>>729558986

It's one of the best guitar's I've played but the Luthier had some challenges!

The neck pocket had to be change from 2 3/16 to 2 1/4 and the pocket was crooked also he said.

He also said the humbucker rout was crooked as well.

He put two shims in the pocket so I can get a low action.

It stays in tune great and it seems super stable, I think those shims are helping.

It's a seymour duncan jb, in a few months i will get him to do a coil split for me so i can do a push/pull.

The work he had to do it was precise work, he also had to rout the pocket back a bit he said, it wasn't deep enough.

basically he had to do a whole bunch of shit to it so it would be a working scale length.
>>
>>729559010
I play whatever I feel like playing, I'm open to most types of music as long as it's actually good. My fav guitarist is Slash or Page but I wanted to get away from Epiphone/Gibson as there are some really nice Fenders around.
>>
>>729559424
why the jb's?
>>
>>729559354
Nice once Epi's are given nice pickups they are very similar to Gibsons but for a fraction of the cost. At least in tone.

>>729559553

I find the JB a good all around pickup, especially for cover tunes.

You can do some metal rock and blues.
>>
>>729559611

>>
>>729559423
It takes a refined man to study Tarrega, Have fun with your Taco Bell shitbox tone and fingerpicking Stairway to Heaven in half time.
>>
>>729559494
Cool, to be honest If I was you I would give in to my slash/page desires and get a Les Paul. However if you want a fender with versatility my friend has just purchased a Strat with a humbucker which essentially can do every tone ever.
>>
>>729559424
ah... that does sound like a lot of work, yeah. but I'm glad it all got put together eventually! you liking the JB? I was thinking of a JB/jazz set ages ago, but ended up opting for dual 59s.

I see. I ask because i coil tapped a suhr doug aldrich bridge in one of my other shittier electrics and it does the job you describe exceptionally well. I think i may like it better than a emg 81. Now i just need to get a worthy guitar to really let it shine.

See I don't have a lot of money to spend on a guitar, £150 max, which is like $200. There's some awesome Fenders for that price like a Bullet or a Squier as I already have a POD LINE 6 XT Station for effects and such. A Les Paul is simply too expensive for me.
>>
>>729559808
>>729559494
To get slash tone you need alnico 3 pickups i believe. They are warm and smooth
>>
Sup guitar /b/ros

I've been playing guitar for a few months on a super shitty squire strat. I need an upgrade. How much is a respectable amount to get a high-quality guitar, and what type? I was thinking a used MIM Strat for around $350. Thoughts?

>>729560150

>>
>>729560272
Have no fear child I too use £. Then for that money I would probably recommend a squire. A classic vibe if possible. Frankly if its your thing a epi sg is about £220 new and would get quite close to the les paul sound.

>>
>>729560726
I would, but I feel like thats A LOT of money to spend on something I've only been doing for a few months
>>
>>729560624
I was really considering a Vintage Reissue as they have the same style and set up as a standard les Paul and they are like £200. But i really like playing all sorts from John Frusciante to Blink 182 to Pink Floyd, and in my opinion I don't think you get the same versatility in a Les Paul as you would in a Fender, but I'm no expert at the same time!

one of the most solid strats i've ever played, plus fast as fuck when you wanna shred

pisses over any cs fender i ever played, and i've been playing since 1990ish on and off.
>>
>>729560995
I suppose it depends but if you get a fender with just single coils it wont do the humbucker thing. Much like the LP won't do the single coil thing.
>>
>>729560874
Bro Mexican strats are fuckin expensive lol
>>
>>729561181
I can always install a humbucker, Seymour Duncan Invader pick ups are awesome too
>>
>>729561331
Well assuming the fender strat (for example) is routed for a humbucker. Although you could use a one of those mini humbuckers.
>>
>>729560040

I used the 81 for years when I was younger but when I switched to passive I'll never go back to the 81 again.
>>
>>729560995
Thats why you get a guitar with coil tapping/splitting. Do your research some pickups sound better than others split. As i have previously recclommended i suggest suhr doug aldrich pickups.
>>
>>729561507
See although I've been playing for 2 years, I really don't know much about pickups and which are better. I've been trying to educate myself and from what I've seen, most fenders are single coil for crisper sound but I can manipulate that to sound heavier on the effects station instead of having to install humbuckers or an invader perhaps
>>
>>729561136
>>729560972
Pretty much what he said. Also you will find the guitar more playable and fun to use.

>>
Not all of my stuff, but honestly pleased with this
>>
>>729561754
Yeah to be fair you can sound heavy with single coils. It annoys me when people say you cant play X with Y pickups. Its just if you really wanted to match tones you would need the right kind. To be honest if your still learning I would reccomend going on the feel rathert than the tone.

Awesome amp for recording and can totally cover a small gig.
