Here's the thing. All things are based on your definition of "faith."

You have "faith" that you can walk out your front door and not step into the sun, because you have "faith" that the sun isn't in your front yard. But "who knows! It could be"

The problem is that you then take this word "faith" and try to turn it into a religious/spiritual thing. "HAHA you have faith that there is not god! That means you have faith! The problem is that it isn't "faith" to begin with. There's a difference in an "idea" and "faith." We have an idea where it all began. We don't know, so in the end it doesn't matter and we don't care. We don't base our entire lives off of that, and morals, and ethics, and laws. Because it's just an idea, a hypothesis, a scientific theory.

Its not faith in the sense you're trying to make it.

get on my level. philisophically and logically there is always a cause for something as long as it had a beginning. Everything can be traced back in time until you reach the cause of it. Eventually you reach the first cause, but did it have a cause? We know the universe had a beginning right? THerefore it too had a cause. However, current scientific knowledge suggests that time didn't exist prior to the big bang, nor did xyzt space itself, matter didn't exist, nothing existed prior to the big bang. It's a total dodge.

Just as a mental excercise, trace everything backwards to it's cause. It absolutley makes sense that you eventually, in one way or another, reach the cause that didn't have a prior cause because it always existed.

AND in case you're literally a brainlet, this is an argument for "Deism", not for any specific monotheistic God, just that there must be one. I realize your logic train as an atheist relies on being able to rip into specific dogma and religious texts. However, I have provided no punching bag.
