Between the two main US Presidential hopefuls, I hoped a nuclear winter would occur and neither would take office.

That being said, I expected Hillary to cave under popular opinion and at least do some progressive policy work while fucking us over in other ways. Donald is looking out for his corporate buddies because loosening regulations enriches him and his family, too.

I'm honestly a bit more socialist and like redistribution. Taxes are at an all time low. Of course, wages have stagnated so bad that most Americans have trouble with taxes. I know the rich are already contributing a significant amount (in comparison to us peasants) but many are able to claim massive and end up paying effective rates that are near to or lower than those earning significantly less.

Of course, if we slashed military spending and stopped being the world police and trying to develop new weapons while weapons that aren't even remotely obsolete sit unused, raising taxes probably wouldn't be as necessary. I'd like to pay down the debt a little, though, so raising revenue and cutting spending in the forms of corporate subsidies and military spending would be nice.
