Weed helps with anxiety because it puts you in a calm state of mind, it shows you the calm side, you can learn from it and see how stressed you normally are and use that new perspective to work on yourself.
It does NOT work if you just smoke it all the time. Your anxiety does not go away, it'll just always be covered up.

I smoked weed for about 14 years and finally started doing heroin which led me to a horrible withdrawals and finally going to rehab where I was introduced to narcotics anonymous. I've been clean now for about 16 months And my life is slowly getting better. My suggestion to you is to find an NA meeting and maybe keep an open mind to working some steps. I understand that 12 step programs arent for everyone, but after reading this thread I felt as though I was reading things that I a might write. My suggestion is just give it a shot. Again, my life isn't perfect, but it's better than what it was and continues to get better. Not so much that my life gets better, just my perspective on life.

It's like people all around me think music is just some little thing you turn on while you poop but there is a literal lifetime behind each sound, and sometimes...people undermine how important it is to develop yourself...and...it just seems nobody is deeply aware of things like this because they just havent been trained to see into details like a musician.

Probably most artists too, but especially high level musicians because we are so self critical of even just a fraction of a second of a slipup...jazz musicians tend to learn how to make their mistakes sound intentional and roll with it, rather than a classical musician who will train the mistakes away...laboriously).

But this heightened awareness passes itself to otherthings. Visual art, spoken word, body language, driving, virtually anything that requires real time attention. It's like we are aware of more things per square inch of reality...something that most normal folk really tend to disrespect in various ways, usually ignorance with innocence but sometimes with malice (i.e I didnt know! vs. I don't give a shit.)
