Quite the opposite in a lot of cases. Most depictions I've seen show fluffies deserving punishment and pain. I don't know why, but I find the limited reasoning abilities of fluffies to be an excellent source of material. Hug, sad, weird, gore - fluffies trying to make sense of the world around them fits for all of those.

I was working on a story where the fluffy was amazed to learn that there were different types of 'sketties' despite the owner's attempts to explain that spaghetti is just one a type of pasta, and there are other non-pasta noodle dishes out there.
