Bullet (1996)

Mickey Rourke is a juiced up ex con jewish heroine addict that tries to get back in good graces with his family and 2 unusual brothers but he has a beef with an old rival that threatens to change everything.

Captivating performances by all the actors, great soundtrack and overall brilliant film. Don't know a single person that has ever seen it.

Science fiction and alien technology doesn mean that you have to suspend all reason. I mean there are still laws that govern the universe and they didn't explain how a human can gain the ability to see time (future and past) in a non linear way just because she could read alien. Also the squid bodied aliens looked retarded, and were they supposed to have built those ships with their tentacle hands?

Cameos by practically every horror movie monster ever, including Boris Karloff himself.
Also Robert Vaughn has some of the best lines ever:

"But WHY would you want to do that?!"
>"Because I'm evil. Haven't you figured that out yet?"

You know how some movies are too good to just be "movies" and you have to call them "films"?
This is not just a film. This is ART.
At first, it's a movie about Ghost Dog.
Then the second time you watch it, you realize it's a film about Louie.
Then you realize that the only time the mobster's daughter isn't in tears is during the ending, and the reason she had a conversation about Rashamon with Ghost Dog in Handsome Frank's motel room and it's fucking BEAUTIFUL.

I think it's visual poetry more than anything.

They all had their parts to play in the story.

Ghost Dog committing his life to death and service was his way of coping with the death of a woman he loved. You can see it in the framed picture, the nod to the cemetary.

loved the reveal:

HAL killed the astronauts becuase:
He had a definitive and secret mission to do, regarding the monolith. The human astronauts were thwarting it, becuase they did not know of secret mission, and started questioning HAL about what was going on. HAL could not reveal the secret mission to anyone, and HAL did not know how to lie. So he removed the 'variables', and this allowed him to try to fulfill mission, all because HAL did not know how to lie. epic 2010 answered the unanswered questions of 2001 a space odyssey

The BBC TV series based on the Gently books was atrocious. It was every bit as bad as the US version of HHGTTG.
In fact, it was very like a certain reboot of Sherlock Holmes on British TV not long ago.
I wouldn't be surprised if it came from the same source.

You asked me why I think I was qualified, and I think that's qualification.
> And I'm just wondering why that in particular strikes you as an important qualification for semen donation.
I would say that's a big fucking qualifica—excuse me, a very important qualification.

Have you ever asked?

You should.

Sup /b/

I've been looking for a movie title I've been scared of since I was a child. The only thing scary about the movie I can remember is some person getting strapped on to some kind of chair and getting transported into some sort of machine. The person's head is put into the machine whereafter the head comes out with some sort of mask on it. I was born in around 1990 so Im guessing the movie title was anywhere in between 1980-1995 or so. Any1 an idea? Sorry for being incredibly vague.
>>
>>728823635
The mask-type thing basically turns the man with a normal head into a monster, all I can remember was the man screaming his guts out for having to enter the machine with his head

Midnight Special, came out last year, don't look up anything about it, I was browsing and had just got done talking to a friend about a scene in Twilight Zone called, Midnight Special, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5Q26LkUN-A when I saw it was a movie, I figured they fleshed this 1 minute intro sketch out into a story, I was wrong, but I kept watching, and I was glad I was wrong.
It was exactly what I needed and I've watched every movie made by the director and every movie with the lead actor in it, since, but nothing was as good as this, then, and there.

I hope it does for you what it did for me, but all I ask is, do not look up anything about it, just get it, watch it and let yourself get into it, without any prior knowledge of it as a film.

If you just can't resist looking things up about it before hand, I understand, but if you take my advice, I'm positive you will not regret it. Quite the opposite. I think you'll appreciate me having told you this, taken my advice, and let the journey of discovery, happen from a blank slate.

Nah you have shitty taste. That movie is a fucking joke. Like this is gonna sound like I'm just insulting you, but I promise you what I'm about to say is 100% true. The first time I saw it I caught it halfway through and I honestly thought Tom Hanks was doing a bit in SNL. Then I saw Hugo weaving in drag and I thought it was a parody. Then it came back on and watched all of it and read that Roger Ebert loved it. And that's when I knew. That's where Roger Ebert got cancer from.
