I should preface this with the fact that's I live in Boston and attend many gaming related gatherings, conventions, small events, LAN parties, boardgame nights, casual gaming gettogethers. Not a thing to brag about at all and I don't mean corn it to come off that way, the reason I mention it is because it means I meet a lot of people who are into video games, which means I've met a lot of gamer girls.

Let me explain something. Of all the so called girl gamers I've met, pretty much none of them games consistently and they're all absolute garbage at videogames. They all suck at competitive video games, they all play a very small selection of games, some of them only play games like Pokémon, some of them only play whatever is popular at the moment so that they can fit in with the gaming crowd.
They just use it as a social tool, I've found most of them don't actually even enjoy playing the games they play or claim to play.

I've learned this from actual experience with a large number of gamer girls. I'm not just pulling info out of my ass like most of the people in this thread.
