You guys call any of this "cheap"? I've seen much of these in walmart and it's all expensive and fancy to me.

For a year and a half I have done good to survive on 20lbs bags of rice and dried beans, at 2 cents an ounce and 4 cents an ounce respectively.

Sometimes every other month I treat myself by buying some cans of cream of chicken soup at about 5 cents an ounce to mix in with my beany rice, or I get some beef ramen at like 30 cents per package for variety.

God I just wish I could afford bologna and bread and mayo for a week, I would cry tears of joy to taste meat again.

Well think about it like this. Employers expect previous experience, but it doesn't need to be (youre applying for a design engineer job, so you need experience in desing).

I did 5 years working with machinery at a maintenance level with the merchant navy then 5 years looking into how the machinery is made plus organizing the projects to do so. None of that is design, but they are things that MUST be taken into consideration when designing (like placements of welds). This is the experience they are talking about, entry level technician jobs.

For you, you could even look at working on oil rigs, they do a lot of harness work. And then say 5 years later, you have that relevant experience. Im hungover AF so sorry if it doesnt make sense.
