If we were to treat them as separate numbers then you get either a variable cost equation, where fixed cost is $1 and variable cost is .5 * the price of the game.

If you treat price and cost as the same variable, then you get the simple result of cost/price =$2

This is actually pretty fucking obvious, no equation needed.

You are told that the price of the game is 1 dollar + half of the price.
