I've never seen the appeal of joining the military, even in spite of them kissing my ass and telling me I'm smart enough to be officer material. This was back when I went to the mandatory draft thing. I'm just lucky that I picked a number where me joining would be voluntary.
I also had one of the worst insults in my life during the physical. This fat little army doctor was basically fondling my balls(checking for hernia), when he looked me straight in the eye and said "You're overweight".
It took me all of my restraint to not deck him then and there.

A lot of unmanned shit exists now. Sure, you still need ground troops, etc. When the current crew gets older, you'll see the adds, incentives start up.
