A real mans bourbon is Knob Creek. The trick is to force yourself to drink it straight until you're drunk enough to not mind the burn and can appreciate the taste.

Just drank a 2l jug of family recipe sangria (very strong shit) and a pint of 2 parts vodka to 1 part Apple juice. Let me teach you dad son senpai. The key is really to find something you enjoy the taste of, it's entirely subjective. My view is that mixing effectively any spirit with a mixer that masks the taste will set you off right. Coke with whiskey, lemony drinks with white rum, anything with vodka, you'll learn with time what you like yourself. With honey JD I'd recommend nothing but I've, it's very drinkable. That fiery burn only comes from spirits and mixers usually reduce the effect.

Tldr experiment more and find your own way.
