It's bait and I'm taking it, the European train is a magnetic monorail, these can't haul as great a load as a diesel locomotive so it's mostly used as transport for population. Americans don't really need train transport as we have cars that we buy and use. This allows a sense of freedom.

America may not do trains, but we sure as Hell can do military. That's why we had to win two World Wars, to save the candy-ass Europeans from themselves. The way things are going, we may have to win another World War, since the shit-simple fuck-tard Europeans are Hell bent on the Islamifacation of their homelands. So, in closing, Europeans can shove their faggot-ass rail systems up their asses, along with their faggot-ass cheese & wine.
>>
People here in America place a lot more importance on owning (and using) a vehicle than other countries. They are symbols of financial ability and individualism. Not to mention the public transport sytems here are no where comparable (and never will be) to the likes of London. Necessitating the use of vehicles anyways.

Trains will never happen because no one here wants to pay for it and a bunch of bureaucratic bullshit.

We don't even have to talk about hypothetical systems. There's already plenty of democrat socialist concepts already applied.

Our roads are made and maintained, electricity is heavily subsidized, water is drinkable, etc etc. People here can be so far removed from reality even when they "know" it for themselves. I guess that's the power of doublethink when you're that scared of "socialism".

I get greed, duh, who doesn't want the best for their own. My question is, if no one was worrying about where the next meal was coming from, where the roof was for their heads when the rain starts coming down, or where they could go and study and become another contributor to the overall wealth of the world - why would you not allow those people the right to do that?

Obviously, there will be folks to abuse the system. Though there are people who don't have the chance to get out of their situation, who, given the chance, would jump high and hard to give back.

You can always give anon, but you can't always get. Plus, what are you going to do with all that wealth when you're dead? It's just material.

Most people here are not wealthy enough that having free healthcare, college, etc. would be a net loss for them in the taxes they'd pay for them. 95% of people who post here would save significant amount of money over a lifetime by not having to pay for those things out of their own pocket.

That doesn't mean anything. For starters you interstate roads are maintained by the state, so you didn't pay for most of those roads anyways.

My original point still stands. Why are you seemingly ok with paying for roads that you won't use (you yourself proved as much) yet you're not ok paying for, say, universal healthcare (which you would presumably use)?

Roads help, but trains have been around well before them. 1950's interstates were primarily designed for national defense, as well as commercial support, with the superseding commercial support coming from train transport.

America is just too big for feasible railroad construction for passengers, that and the costs of buying up all the property necessary to establish a 200 km/h railway corridor are insane. To compound this, Europe is full of good public transportation (buses and trams) whereas in the US you'd get off the train into a rental car making you weigh the options of just driving yourself or flying more seriously.

That's because they are.

The UK is a pinnacle piece of the Union. Like, I get that you're trying to be cool and smug by blowing it off. But you're a fool if you don't think the Union is fucking pissed about it.

But I guess that explains why you're not part of the EU administration.

The joke is that they'll leave fairly soon.

Buy Euro cars
Better built all round
Don't cost as mutch to run as "gas" is cheaper in the us
Manual gearbox
Parking will be easier as they arnt a house on wheels
You can look dapper for the ladies with euphoric trance playing load as fuck
I suggest you buy a golf gti or r32 if you can afford it
Drop the suspension widen arches and some nice alloys with low profile tires and sills and front and rear bumber and a fat dump valve

Nobody cares what the EU thinks, we've wised up to the ever-growing bureaucracy in Brussels, wise to the scams, the special interests and the gravy train of expenses. We're out.
>>
>>728108940

it's going to be fun watching you guys live through the educational experience of being cut off of the free market and having to bargain your way back in

Railroad nationalization came much sooner to Europe than it did the US.

Also American diesel trains (the F units) are way more aesthetic than the shit we have here.
>>
>>728109007

ten years from now, the situation the UK will be in will be a useful reminder to nationalist idiots of what is to be lost by leaving for the wrong reasons

Not significantly enough to make up for the difference of having a higher annual wage couple with paying thousands of dollars less each year due to not driving. Also, most of your food is much worse quality, so you get what you pay for, I guess.

But that isn't whats being said here.

One of the criticisms for the magrail vs. diesel was that it was using a "heap of government money whereas the diesel trains came from the free market".

Which is verifiably untrue. Unless I missed the memo and government authorization and funding are now considered free market?

I've only met a handful, and not the bed-sheet wearing kind

I'm 100% against the immigration bullshit that's been going on, but to think you need to leave the union to fix it, it's insane

it's like if you literally set your house on fire to kill one spider, instead of realizing that's just a meme joke
