I think that having a sword is like having a gun; it's all god to own it but if you don't at least know a bit about how to use it then it's super cringey.

Honestly, think about it. Swords were big when guns didn't exist. Cannon fire and hand to hand combat was what was needed to survive, and for a time, swords were an amazing balance of offense and defense.

Today, however, this is not the case. A decent pocket knife and a firearm are what you need to truly protect yourself on today's society. Using a sword today in modern society would be laughable. Movies have taught us that swords as a viable weapon in society is cool.

I feel like a lot of people have hateboners for swords. I understand they are outclassed by firearms, and weebs have made them a bit of an autist fashion accessory, but they still have had a major impact on human history from the earliest days of antiquity.
