Proactiv, I ended up getting it again when I turned 25 which really fucked me over since I'm considered good looking. It definitely helps.

Had Severe/Mild acne until I was 21. Tried everything from accutane to retinoid. Accutane helped but what really helped me was cutting all Juices, Sodas, Milk and Sugary Food. I did that and started to drink only water on every meal. No Juices or Milk, nothing, just water. 2 to 3 glasses of water per meal.

If someone told me to just drink water when I was younger I wouldn't have my face with scars. Hope you follow my advice.

Had it for over 5 years between ages 16-21, it fucking ruined me as a person for 5 years... tried literally everything UK Dr could throw at it, after fucking around for 5 year I went on accutane tablets for 6 months... half of acne cleared in 4-5 months, 80% reduction after 6 months, fully clear in under a year.... had literally 4 minor pimples since in over the 4 years since... there are side effects, im not going to pretend there arnt, i've had moderate stomach and liver issues and I still have to moisturise face everyday otherwise it gets slightly dry... but i wouldnt change it for the world... The truth is that most dermatologists don't know shit and try to treat the symptoms with creams/accutane instead of the cause.

Adult acne in men is usually hormonal. Your estrogen/testosterone levels are fucked from your diet and all the shit xenoestrogens in everything.

Basically start lifting weights every day, cut out all sugars/wheat/dairy from your diet and only eat grass fed protein or wild caught fish. Make sure you balance your omega-3 and omega-6 levels by eating more oily seafood. Throw out all seed oils and anything that isn't coconut oil/grass fed butter/avocado oil/legitimate olive oil.

You can also take an aromatase inhibitor to help lower your estrogen levels.

Switching to cold showers and only washing your face with water also helps as it's gentler on the skin and doesn't strip the natural protective oils.

If you have dry skin get a humidifier for your room and leave it on while you sleep.

It's a lot of work but that's actually treating the problem instead of hiding it. Your call.

Accutane, best and worst decision of my life. I have slight scarring on my cheeks that could have been a lot worse if I would have let the cystic acne get worse. So I had to take it. However with that I've been plagued with other long term side effects, skin dryness eye dryness and burning etc that never went away. The potential damage accutane causes to DNA was actually really ftightening to find out about... but hey it was a chemo drug originally. Try diet change and exercise if it's mild, if it's cystic and scarring, you only really have one option as I'm sure you've tried antibiotic therapy etc.
