Is it 1c cheaper or 6c??!?!!?!?
>>
left is 7.95 cents per cubic inch
right is 8.83 cents per cubic inch
>>
what's the agle of the pizza slices? are they both 1/8 of the total pie?
>>
>>726871861
This. You can't tell from the question. Either the angle would work, or the length of the outer edge.

Assuming pepperoni distribution is roughly equivalent, there are about 8 on the smaller one and 9 on the larger one, which is within the margin of error of the price ratio, so that's a push. I'd go with the longer slice as it has one more pepperoni to enjoy.

Well, no. I'd order a whole pizza. Fuck this shit.
>>
>>726871861
>>726872501
Are you retarded? The angle is clearly indicated
>>
>>726871092

60 deg = 1/6 of pizza
45 deg = 1/8 of pizza
area=pi*r^2
compare $1.50/(36pi/6) with $1.70/(49pi/8)
>>
>>726872740
49?
>64
>>
>>726871092
Fuck math.

Weigh them.
>>
>>726872941

6^2=36
7^2=49

I left that part out because it is trivial.
>>
>>726872941
49 is 7 squared, 36 is 6 squared.

pi*r^2 = area of circle
>>
>>726872663
>The angle is clearly indicated
It's indicated, but not clearly.
>>
>>726871861
The angle is clearly given and obviously a whole pie is 360 degrees

So a 6 inch radius pizza has an area of 113.10 in^2 for the whole pizza. With the angle of 60 degrees you're getting 1/6 of that so 18.45 in^2 of pizza for $1.50. With the 7 in radius the whole pizza had an area of 153.94 in^2 and with angle of 45 degrees you're getting 1/8 of that for $1.70 or 19.24 in^2 for $1.70. Comparing the ratio of prices and you have 12.3 in^2 per dollar on the left and 11.32 in^2 per dollar on the right. So the one on the left is better.
>>
>>726873109
60 degrees and 45 degrees are not clearly enough for you then get back to mopping

The question was stupid.
>>
>>726872740
However, you have to consider the total size of the pie. The 1/6 of a pizza is from a 12" pie. The second slice if 1/8 of a 14" Pie.

area of a 14" pie is 154 square inches. 1/8 of that is 19.25 square inches. Paying a $1.70 each square inch costs a little over eleven cents.

Area of a 12 inch pie is 113.1 square inches. 1/6 of that is 18.83 sq in. So you would pay roughly twelve and a 1/2 cents per square inch.

Thus the 1.70 slice is the better deal.
>>
>>726873345
You subtract that in the area calculations initially. You would treat 6 inches as 5.5" and 7 as 6.5". I don't feel like doing that but I do think the one on the right will probably be better after that.
>>
>>726873195

Why are you squaring the fraction of the area? You are supposed to square the radius.
>>
>>726873706

nice catch, I didn't even consider that :v
>>
it needs to be factored in that some people might value the rim over the rest or vice versa

Question is bogus.

>>
>>726874422

Tru dat.

Crust could concievably be cheese filled.
>>
>>726873030
Most correct answer. Food is three dimensional and thickness is not given.
>>
As cheese is the costliest component of a pizza, the area might not be the most accurate measure in relation to the depth of said cheese. Please provide cubic measurements and/or precooked weights.
>>
>>726871092
I'm alittle too drunk and tired to decode all your coded references to CP in this thread.

I think the 6" and 7" are references to cock sizes (or is it her age?), and when you say "per cubic" I get that you mean pubic, but the rest of it you ll have to explain.
>>
>>726875059
But the safe assumption is that they're equally as thick if it's not given. Pizza stores don't give you thickness either when you're comparing prices of getting a medium 12" vs a large 14". This math problem actually applies to the real world when deciding to order pizza.

>>726875541
actually if you solve the math problem you end up with a telephone to call to order some nice fresh CP without the FBI knowing. So start dialing those digits
>>
>>726875601
I worked at a pizza place. Thickness varies and is important to the actual food weight. For example the smallest size my shop sold was a 12" pizza that had the same weight as Little Cesar's "large" 14" pizza

>>
Guys wait what if those 6 and 7's aren't the radius/length but the side of the triangle?
>>
>>726876036
But you're comparing thickness across different pizza stores right? Is it a safe assumption that in general the same pizza store will offer around the same thickness consistently? If OP's post has both pizzas from the same place then it's probably a safer assumption to ignore thickness.
>>
>>726871092
r^2*pi/4 = area of the whole pizza
(angle in degrees of slice / hole pizza) * area of whole pizza = area of slice
area of slice/price of slice = efficiency of purchase in square inches per dollar

((6*6)*pi/4)*(60/360)/1.50 = ~3.1415926 square inches per dollar

((7*7)*pi/4)*(45/360)/1.70 = ~2.8297433 square inches per dollar

The $1.50 pizza slice is the better deal.

(angle in degrees of slice / whole pizza in degrees) * area of whole pizza = area of slice

This.

The math lesson relating to this homework problem would cover a specific technique in aiding the learner to understand and apply math to solve it. In this case it appears to be a unit on circular geometry. So obviously you solve the question in the context of the lesson.

So it doesn't matter if weight, topping density, or any of the other dumbass interjections thrown around ITT aren't given. You'd already know how to find the answer.

So as to why people are whining about the wording of the question, I have no idea.

For fucks sake...

It's 1/6 of a circle of radius 6 vs 1/8 of a circle of radius 7. Divide by the respective prices and figure out which gives more area per penny
>>
>>726877235

Wow, it took this long to get an exact answer. Everyone else is literally retarded.

1. find the area of the pizza using A = (pi)(r)^2
p1 = (pi)(6)^2 = 113.097335529
p2 = (pi)(7)^2 = 153.938040026
2. find out the fraction of pizza bought
p1 = 60/360
p2 = 45/360
3. multiply the fraction of pizza bought by the area of each pizza to figure out how much you are getting
p1 = 113.097 x 60/360 = 18.8495
p2 = 153.938 x 45/360 = 19.2423
4. divide each area by the price of pizza slice to figure out area per cent
p1 = 18.8495/150 = 0.12566
p2 = 19.2423/170 = 0.11319

Pizza 2 is a better deal since you get more pizza per cent.
