This. We might've liked that Trump in general, but is anyone so naive in this day and age to believe that a politician will deliver on even most of his promises?

As long as he steers the government generally in the direction that I think it should go in, I'll be content with that. That's really all the executive branch can guarantee, anyway. As far as Trump's concerned, I'm not too worried about the specifics, because ultimately those aren't up to Trump to decide.

>Motherfucker the republican party spent 8 FUCKING YEARS USING ACTUAL OBSTRUCTIONISM, and you're complaining about Democrats RIGHTFULLY being pissed about appointments like Sessions, DeVos, and Bannon?
So wait, is the obstructionism only rightful when you think that it's justified, or is there some objective measuring stick that we're going by, here? Because as far as I can tell, this isn't a right vs wrong, it's just a "I don't like those people" vs "I like those people"

also:
>and you're complaining
Nah, I don't really mind, it was to be expected. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy in complaining about someone doing something to you, then turning around and doing it to them. You can either fight fire with fire, or you can take the moral high road. You can't do both.
>Also, are you actually defending his repeated golf trips?
I mean, I'm not saying that all he's done is go golfing since he took office, like many libcucks imply. Take that as you will.
>>

What the fuck is your point? It looks like you're arguing against yourself, here. All you're pointing out is that the republicans didn't repeal it when they got the majority, not that they had anything to do with what was actually implemented.

>>
>>726389985
Yet you keep saying it was a republican led house.
>>
>>726389759

Probably because the prevailing mentality for the last five years was that it should just be repealed. Sure, there was some talk about replacing it before, but it wasn't really taken seriously until Trump got elected.

Thing is, once you give something to people, it is a lot harder to take it away than it is to not give it to them in the first place, and the republicans are realizing this now.

But don't get it wrong. If most of us could have it our way, we'd get rid of it. I don't appreciate getting Obamacare that I've never used stuffed down my throat just so that some sjw bluehair in another state can get her diabetes medication. And if I choose to not use it, I get to pay even more in yearly fines.

Nancy Pelosi was on the PBS the other day talking about how the weaksauce repeal of Obamacare is the greatest wealth transfer in American history from the poor to the rich.

Which is kind of ironic, because the greatest wealth transfer in history from the poor to rich was Obamacare in the first place. It's liberally designed to force the poor, young "invulnerables" with little or no health care needs to pay high rates, while subsidizing the rich baby boomers.
>>
>>726390815
Not to mention all of the money insurance companies are getting from people who have to by law purchase their product. Total bullshit. Big pharma really got stupid liberals to believe the ACA was a good thing.
>>
>>726390435

I was going to call you a fuckin' dipshit, but there's obviously a fundamental misunderstanding of how the ACA works.

See, you're already being "taxed", because your fuckin' taxpayer dollars go to helping people anyway. People who don't have insurance and have major issues, whether it be from a preexisting condition, or just poverty.

Now, the ACA fills up a coffer that uses taxpayer funds to provide just basic health care so they DON'T have to go to an emergency room when something is serious.

The word of the day is "prevention", because, historically, when preventative medicine is provided, the cost of ALL medical services are lowered, hence, lowering the total cost of the ACA. It's not fucking rocket science.

The republicans took out the insurance regulations that would have STOPPED the price of your ACA co-pay going up due to straight up fucking cronyism, and got to blame Obama for it.

Scratch that first part, all of this is widely available to you using the very device you're currently on.

You're a fuckin' dipshit.
>>
>>726391113

>>
>>726391255

Do you suck at reading comprehension that hard? Nobody is implying that our taxes don't already do things. The fundamental issue is having to go out of our way and pay a separate fee to sign up for Obamacare, or we get fucked 600 dollars every year we're not covered.
If it were as simple as you made it sound, when I paid my taxes, money would just be taken out automatically to go toward it. But it doesn't, I have to pay for that shit separately.

Kill yourself, fucking dipshit. Also, nice reddit spacing
>>
>>726391255
I already know my tax dollars go to it. You must not understand the part of the ACA that states that anyone that doesn't have health insurance will be fined. This was a big part when it was challenged in the Supreme Court. The only way the Obama administration got around it was by labeling it a tax instead of a fine. Go shill back on reddit.
>>
>>726391255

>every sentence is a new paragraph
>redditing this hard
>>
>>726391692
Also, it's hilarious to hear liberals (like Pelosi) talk about getting rid of "free riders" and "making people pay their own way", because who gets nailed by the fines and premiums skyrocketing in the exchanges?

Not the rich. It's liberals soaking the poor, because they believe the poor aren't poor enough.

Democrats have become the party of the 1%
>>
>>726391692
>>726391876

>If it were as simple as you made it sound, when I paid my taxes, money would just be taken out automatically to go toward it.

That was literally part of the original rider for the ACA that was released initially. The republicans, being fucking obstructionists, took it out for fear of a subsidy collapse, despite most major insurers earning record fucking profits.

This was just a few years ago, how does no one remember this?

A fucking republican house member changed his party to democrat just so they couldn't block it anymore.

Have our memories really become this short?
>>
>>726391312
It's kind of different. If I get sick and have to go to the hospital, no one has to pick up the bill. That's on me. I'm the only one that would suffer for not having health insurance. Every hospital in the U.S. was required to provide emergency treatment to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, decades before the ACA.

Yes, preventative care instead of emergency would have been a good idea. But the ACA wasn't about basic care. It was about this holistic-all-in-one-everything-care, made no sense economically, and soaked the poor to subsidize the rich. It's even worse than the system it replaced, which is saying a lot.

>access

Liberals really like throwing that word around. Everybody has access to healthcare. It's just not free. What liberals really mean when they say "access" is "FREE SHIT" so when we rephrase your statement to

>the whole point was to make sure that everyone, was given free shit when they deemed it necessary

The question then becomes, what if I don't want those handouts in the first place? Why should I be forced to pay for somebody else's handouts when I will literally never use them to begin with? Isn't this essentially how regular insurance companies work? They get money from the people they insure, and they use the money from those people's premiums to pay for the care of people who need it. Why can't Obamacare work like this on a voluntary basis, instead of shoving it down my throat, even if I don't want to be insured?

>probably because the system would collapse under its own weight if it didn't have legions of poor people having to scrape together hundreds more dollars a year to sustain a system that many of them don't even use, so that again some sjw bluehair hamplanet can get her diabeetus medication three states over.
>>
Y'all faggots don't seem to understand that literally every single one of the things you are bitching about re: the ACA were forced upon it by House Republicans. You dumb fucks.

You stupid fucks need to kill yourselves.

>Every hospital in the U.S. was required to provide emergency treatment to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, decades before the ACA.

At an exorbitant cost to the taxpayer. When someone goes to the emergency room with no insurance and can't pay after receiving care, YOU pick up the tab. Why is this so difficult?

The ACA was SUPPOSED to stop that from happening.

The numbers of the plan that the republicans have presented have already been crunched, and unless you're a fucking billionaire, you're going to get fucking SCREWED if you were an Obamacare enrollee.

You played yourself.

You're a moron. YOU ALREADY PAY FOR IT, MOTHERFUCKER. The ACA before it was gutted by house republicans had measures and regulations to stop price hikes and OoP fees the insurance companies are now implementing as a loophole to STILL CHARGE THE FUCK OUT OF YOU.

And NOW, the republican replacement bill is a real, actual redistribution of wealth for only the wealthiest WHO DON'T NEED FUCKING HEALTH INSURANCE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Jesus fucking Christ, you fucking morons.
>>

> At an exorbitant cost to the taxpayer. When someone goes to the emergency room with no insurance and can't pay after receiving care, YOU pick up the tab. Why is this so difficult?
It's not. You're confusing anons, fucktard. I never said anything about that.

And that "exorbitant" cost is still far less than the ACA. And shifting the costs from the rich to the poor who can't afford it is absolutely vile, and complete betrayal of all the ideals the Democrats pretend to believe in. The ACA is proof D is the party of the 1%
>>
>>726393971

And yet the democrats still pushed the bill through, despite the republicans taking their bill and flipping it on its ass?

Where the fuck is the logic in that? Based on what you told me, it sounds like by the time it got passed, it wasn't what EITHER side wanted.
>>

Public hospitals have to treat emergencies up until the point where the patient is stable, no further. Then they bill the patient outrageous amounts of money for that attention. Hence the increase in "urgent care" clinics during this century.

>>726395335
And that billing of outrageous amounts is just one of the symptoms of failure of the health care system. The old system used to fuck over those who didn't have health insurance through their job. But instead of fixing that, the ACA created a parallel system with faux-marketplaces, price fixing and laundry-lists of "essential" (i.e. elective) and very expensive care, and somehow magically expected the prices to go down. Which is why premiums for some people have jumped 600% in a single year.

Against all odds, the ACA actually made things worse.

That's complete fucking nonsense. Did you read what the actual architect of the ACA said about the plan? (Leaked a couple years ago.) It was a fucking con job, and designed to fail from the very start so the Democrats could blame the Republicans, and then justify a single-payer bill.

What party am I championing again?

This is why it's impossible to argue with idiots, like you. You have such a narrow view of the world (Us vs. Them) that you can't even imagine in your little mind that someone might think you suck, AND your enemies suck. Both major parties are a stain on America, and with a few minor differences are almost identical.

That "architect", Gruber, was one of a panel that developed the Massachusetts plan, and is now a Trump advisor.

Actual administration officials within the development of the ACA have stated that he had very little to do with its creation.
