do you not see how the long term effects of this are terrible for everyone? even if its just the insurance companies that have to pay it causes insane increases in the price of healthcare meaning insurance rates will go through the roof for everyone or government spending would go up and taxes will increase (if you know... universal healthcare was a thing...)

the argument for capitalism is that when people compete its good for everyone, this is not fair competition that is benefiting everyone, this is not free trade, this is someone abusing government power (via copyright protection) for personal profit at the expense of everyone else in society, its psychopathy

The pharma interests are entrenched hard there is no free market. A compounding pharmacy "came out" with a 1$ pill of the same thing. Compounding pharmacys are sugbject to different laws. They are only able to distribute the pill on a custom made bases. Like pharmacys can not stock this 1$ pill

I think that the pharma industry is broken... It's being treated as if its a free and healthy when it is anything but

pharma companies come out with the same drug over and over in different forms to game the patent system -- extended release -- now easily digested for people with rare metabolic disorders (but prescribed to everyone) -- etc

in a healthy market the 100$ pill that does the same thing as the 2$ pill would never take off

but if you try to tell people they cant have the 100$ pill

it means you are implementing "death panels" (or something simmilar)

health insurances take a % off the top so if they can keep raising premiums they can keep raising the percent they take -- not much incetive to keep costs low .. and again if you tell someone you arent going to pay for the pill they dont need you are hitler
