Happened to me seven years ago, made me grateful for everyday I had the freedom to be what I wanted to be, being in a life and death hostage situation for a long period of time makes you appreciate the small things in life and what you have available to you.

I'm only 20 and this kind of existential shit is on my mind everyday. Does it get worse with age? I thought that this was supposed to happen when I'm a middle aged man

I've got a girlfriend, I'm at uni doing what I want to do, I don't have much money but it's coming steadily enough to get by. Life is alright, atleast I was born into a first world country.

I feel like over time I become more and more depersonalised and disconnected, I get moments of overwhelming abstractness where I get freaked out that I'm trapped in this fucking body, why was I born at this exact time in space? Even if thoughts and emotions are just a byproduct of our brains and aren't even real, who actually am I and what laws dictated that 'I' ended up in control of this form?
