Pick one.

js is just a carrier for React and meteor which are nerdy as fuck

you can tweak it with adding -f flag to ping
works much better
>>

people still use vim and emacs and shit? sort of crazy those have been around for decades.

emacs is way too much puffed.
Does everything except convinient text files editing

that better faggot? It's still a markup language.

tbh not a big fan either, i just hate xcode
>>
>>725010736
no it makes perfect sense - I just think its sort of funny ( I'm 40, and was using those in college )
>>
>>725010649
of course ppl use vim. Its lightweight, most common and most powerful (confronting its dissemination) editor.
What I love about it is:
I can run it on literally anything. Has all the features one could expect from text or code editor (regexps, multicursor, folding).
It's already installed on the very vast majority of unixes/linuxes.
>>
>>725010790
Yes, that is much better.
>>
>>725010814
Ha yeah, can't believe I'm stuck with them still either. Prefer an IDE but I guess it's nice to have the same environment for all langs
>>
>>725010814
I'm 40 and still use these (except emacs) on daily basis.
>>
>>725009518
What a stupid business card. Looks like shit
>>
>>725010482
im new to system programming and im confused as to how anyone likes vim. why not just use fucking gedit ?? ive been preplexed as to this for a while and they dont really teach us about that kinda stuff
>>
>>725010802
I like Xcode tbh.
I miss few features though. Multicursor is a must have in modern IDE's and I'd love to have a shortcut to delete a whole line of code without marking it first, which I can't do with Xcode. Love it's hint's features though.
>>
>>725010988
the navigation is easier, has some cool shortcuts. Good vim tutorial and they'll show you some of the cool shit. takes a long time to get used to tho
>>
>>725010988
you don't know how to use vim.
Once you get used to it it appears to you how convinient it can be.
>>
>>725009518
Math
>>
>>725011124
thanks im gonna look some up and stop being an idiot i guess
>>
>>725011075
this

Once you know how to use vim, you edit huge chunks of code without touching the mouse. Seriously. It's that convinient. And fast as fuck.

The purpose is to show the Notepad++ interface. He is the developer
>>
>>725011844
yes, notepad++ is not for developers. Use an IDE or a real text editor
>>
>>725010299
Yeah, no. I mean React can be essentially learned in an afternoon. It's a nice library, sure, but definitely not nerdy. Same goes for Meteor.

I used to hate JS. Like truly hate. Until I learned node.js, meteor and React. Now I fucking love it.
What I still hsate is Redux. But I know that's because I can't use it fluently yet.

>>725013220
No, I just work with tech that requires more than 10 brain cells such as FPGAs with Verilog HDL, databases, backends with C#, Python, Rust, Go etc.

React JS and Flux patterns is just what I started with on the job and it's basically the baby step they put you on before you're good enough to move to better things.

>>725013998
I don't hate JS. I think it's gotten a LOT better in recent years particularly with ES6, and now ES7. I just don't think it's nerdy to know JS since everyone knows it.

You forget that less than half of first-worlders even qualify as competent at using a computer. Competent, like being able to log in.

It's all about context

The only problem with Rust is that if you install the environment on a laptop, you can't get the laptop to go into suspend anymore.

Weird Science gif. Those computers were really awesome. They ran Z80s, and were kinda like MSX computers, but not quite. They looked amazing, all-black.
