Adding on to this, the issue is that they used a TOR Browser exploit this time. The whole point of TOR is that the government won't know what you're doing if you use it. It's supposed to be as private as possible.
If they release details about the exploit, then the developers of TOR can patch it, preventing them from using it again.
So the government chooses to not arrest thousands of child abusers and rapists, so that they can catch more of them in the future.

And then do absolutely nothing about it, again, because that would require them to release info about the exploit. It's fucking dumb.
