That is a VERY bad idea. 7 has no advantage over 10, and both Ryzen and every Intel CPU after Skylake requires 10 to work properly. Yes, you can trick it into working, but you will have a hell of a time getting USB stuff to work right, and getting the OS to install at all can be a real fight.

That is absolutely not true. Nvidia cards don't benefit quite as much from DX12 as AMD ones, but it adds things like tessellation, which works fine in Windows 7. Unified memory and heterogeneous GPU pairing are only supported in Windows 10. Windows 10 is faster, lighter, more secure, and better-supported. Why would you chose Windows 7? I can't see any advantage whatsoever.

The Windows 10 installer has gotten a lot better, and if it DOES blue screen, it should recover on reboot. I have done a ton of in-place upgrades, and haven't had any issues in a long time.

Some laptops have proprietary security software that will need to be removed, but 10 replaces that functionality (like HP SmartProtect Tools).

Just go into update settings and take a look at it.

Build 15048.0 is most-current, and it has much more granual control of updates. Windows has warned you before installing updates for quite a while. The only exception is when the computer has been in an idle state for long enough that Windows doesn't think you are using it (and that can be turned off as well).
