Space empires are the go-to of science fiction writers, but they're always the same.
What are some unique empire traits you've seen in sci-fi?
>travel between parallel universes in Rick and Morty is very common, even regular joes will sometimes cross between universes; this means that rather than clustering in 3D space as our cities do, civilisation clusters in 4D space; rather than the same city existing in every parallel universe, it may only exist in a very small portion of those parallel universes, those few universes with that city attracting people from the universes without it
>Ring Runner has universe-spanning roadways allowing for far-faster-than-light travel to occur without a ship slamming into a speck of dust at such a speed that it makes a supernova-like explosion

What's the point in having it be measured in megabytes so it can be impractically large to view?
Giant size makes low-detail images like that look worse too.

You might as well reduce it to only 1000 pixels tall.
Though it's best for the size reduction factor to be a power of 2.

Scaling images is easy though!
With that particular kind of image; few colours and low detail; it's best to go for a roughly-screen-height PNG assuming it's a PNG natively.

They're not always better, it's that the rate at which they improve with aiming accuracy is greater.
Consider the notoriously powerful and absolutely hilarious x10 Beggar's Bazooka in TF2.
It has a 30 degree aiming inaccuracy, so as long as you have enough aiming accuracy to always have no more than 30 degrees between your crosshair and target, any additional accuracy does not matter.

That's an extreme example, but the point is that low-accuracy weapons have a skill ceiling.

Meaning that if low and high accuracy weapons are equally good amongst average players, amongst very highly skilled players the more accurate weapon is better because the inaccurate weapon eventually hit a point where additional aiming skill didn't matter.

>>724391623
It's valid.
>>
>>724392670
Not in World of Tanks where aim matters not, but rather maneuvering.

Is that so great though?
I prefer a balance where it's not all about one skill.

Strategy mattering is always nice, but it's really fun when you manage to do amazingly just because for a brief period you're never missing.

Like landing multiple shots in a row on flying targets with artillery, saving the match by shotgunning everyone perfectly.

You reckon? I find aim is only really important for battleships when fighting from long range. But I do a lot of close quarters so aim doesn't matter as much, just getting in positions outside of the enemies aim.

The solution to aim being a mindless thing in games that is best performed by computers is to make aiming a thing of luck and smarts.
Like the Demoman in TF2, a Demoman aimbot would probably perform worse than a highly skilled Demoman.

Thanks for the feedback, with the face I was going for cute but there's only so much you can do with a 32x32 grid. Might bump it up in resolution a bit for the next one.

I'll take that into consideration though, faces are important and I didn't spend much time on it.

It could be because if someone has a strange fursona, mouth tails balance out the strangeness.
There's not much you can do to make a tail strange other than adding a mouth, and if someone's got a really crazy looking fursona, it'd look strange if everything was strange but the tail.

Resources? Well I know of one book that I found at Barnes & Noble while mingling around the art and "how to draw manga" book section that was shamelessly titled "How to Draw Fantastic Furries". I immediately put it back and made sure nobody saw me holding it.

Besides that, I'd suggest studying the art here in these threads. Look at artists who use details and coloring techniques you like, then try to mimic them. Turn it into your own style of art that you like, and go from there.

>copy someone else's bad form and try to transform it

No. Learn to draw correct forms using live shots. I use Google with searches about specific stances or angles I'm looking for. Once you can do this well enough, incorporate the transformative aspects like something "fur" such as digitigrade legs, snouts, ears, tails, etc. Again, use real references to insure accuracy.

Only then do you start making stylistic choices to simplify or identify the work as your own creation -- a sort of "calling card." The reason you want to do it this way is because your forms are correct from the start, so the stylistic transformations are more likely to follow proper structure and make anatomical sense.

Is it harder/slower this way? Sure, but doing things correctly usually is. If all you want to do is print money, though, then I suppose you can do things the quick and dirty way. Most fur patrons aren't particular.

I'm just trying to avoid the deathly case of "can only draw in a style" that most digital artists in the genre fall victim to. It's much like the Chibi phenomenon, where it's abundantly clear the artist in question cannot do anything else.

I like being a rounded artist so I don't get boxed into a corner. Certain concessions can be made for very stylistic designs like most cartoons utilize, but those are done intentionally and not specifically because the person doing them can't do anything else.

I prefer people become better artists. Mimicing should only go so far. It's a decent place to start, of course, but it shouldn't end there. Mimicing real life tends to have wider artistic application than trying to mimic a particular artist's style.

Now, coloring/shading techniques that you like should definitely be taken from other artists. Sometimes, things like this are done so well that you should profit from other's experimentation. Thankfully, to do these correctly, you'll need an understanding of light sources which life mimicry helps with tremendously.

Can't help the wordiness. I'm verbose by nature and often confuse people I'm speaking to directly because of it. I also don't like being misconstrued and sometimes over-explain certain ideas or concepts to avoid having to re-explain something. Rarely works, though.

And yes, this fandom is particularly bad with criticism, constructive or otherwise.
