There is no best language faggot. Only the best tool for the job. C is terrible at mathematics both in expressing them because of operator precedence and execution time because of the lack of compiler optimization for math expressions. C is a general purpose language that fits many goals but not all of them. I prefer C++ because it has a lot in common with my programming philosophy and it works well with what I like to develop.

Been there. The problem is most likely that the games vision isn't clear enough. You can either kill your game off, just go for it, or get your friends to share the same vision as you have.
Killing the game isn't always bad as a lot of inexperienced people over scope A LOT.

Computer Science is really fucking cool, but most professional jobs involving programming have very little to do with the underlying theory.

Most of the time you spend just memorizing "cutting edge" frameworks which are basic applications of general concepts that have been contorted into a ridiculous organizational structure for the sake of marketing/branding.

Moreover, most of the professional work available is simply information retrieval and presentation for bored middle managers who need something to put in their meaningless power-points they present to senior management.

In that way, I guess it's the same as everything else; fascinating theoretical implications that are boiled off to repetitive and uninteresting applications for the sake of indulging the managerial class.

I'm definitely not bitter.

It's turning the profession into groups of little nerd clubs who get off circle jerking about particular implementations of things but couldn't begin to describe how they work, or why something else wouldn't work better. I don't want to spend hours every week reading about the newest fucking package just to keep up appearances.
