This is the first set of wireless headphones I've ever had, I bought it after destroying about 7 headsets in a row. (Roughly 2 a year) due to cord abuse because of my chair and way I sit)

These are going on one and a half years now being the headphones that have lasted me longer than any other and have one died one me once in this entire span, pretty good. Not as comfy as some headphones though. But it gave me an appreciation I'd never have had before since I can walk all around the house without taking them off.

I like the way my AKG sounds, great soundstage, trebles are not harsh but it sometimes lacks a bit of bass (even though they are well defined and not muddy at all).

RIG 505 Lava headset. Maybe $60 at best buy. Decent headphones, the main 'draw' to the product is that it can be disassembled, so you can swap out different head-bands, ear pieces, etc. Base pair is good on its own.

I haven't gotten the mic to work, but that's only because my laptop only has a single dual-purpose headphone/microphone jack. The headset's cord is tipped in a compatible single-jack setup (also comes with splitter for individual headphones and microphone 3.5mm jacks). My laptop's jack is not set up to accept both input and output at the same time (which is bizarre, because why the fuck have a dual purpose jack if it doesn't fill both purposes)

I ordered a USB device that will work with the splitter provided, but despite Amazon's best wishes, it's been a month since i've ordered it and it's still not here.

so basically your ears stand out a bit? then I don't know if the DT990 are for you tbh, only like 1,5cm depth from driver to the beginning of the earpad. but you can change the earpads to something larger, however I don't know how the sound will change when you do that, some headphones does end up worse when you do it.
I feel like a K702 (or anything from that series) or something of the like could fit your ears if that's the case, but they aren't as cozy, but they're very light and you barely notice them when you use them, you can change the cord too which is nice, a problem with it is the pads, which almost can't be changed, you can take them loose, but you won't find any other than the stock ones that fits unless you do a mod.

The burn in time feels like it takes a century, (like any best quality thing) but dear lord, is it worth it. The sound stage is enormous. These cans actually sound as if the sound is coming from about 6 feet away from your ears, surrounding not only your entire head, but your whole freakin body.

Has anyone tried the DT880 Pros? There's a used pair on craigslist for $120 that I might want to pick up, 600ohm model. I have a headphone amp so I should be able to drive the higher ohm model.

I own AKG Q701's as my first pair of "audiophile" headphones, would the DT880's be a difference enough in sound to justify owning them or should I get some closed back bass-monsters to mix it up?
