You guys do realize the majority of cops work as security guards, right?
Security guard here, I can tell you that the "Failed cop" thing is a myth. Most of the people I work with either has no intrest in being a cop, or is working it as a part time job next top police studies. Sure, there are guards, mostly bouncers, who act like police, but they are in a small minority, at least where I'm from.
A really shitty but neccessary job, I try not to give them a hard time, most just mind their own business.

yeah, bouncers tend to be way bigger douchebags than mallcops. Never really had any problems with mall cops.

In Norway, you're not allowed to bring your drink outside to the smokingarea of pubs after 00:00AM (nighttime). I forgot about this once, and stepped one foot outside to catch a cigarette and call a friend, and the bouncer just grabbed my drink and poured it out. That was around 10$ down the drain, just so he could play cop.
