My dad had a '72' Vette when I was a kid. It was an awesome car for sure, but not very practical as a family vehicle. Every bump in the road makes you white knuckle the wheel because it's extremely easy to tear shit out from beneath a Corvette since they sit so low. The thing also had a bad tendency to run hot.

Also, prepare to be either rich, or able to do all your own work on the thing, because when you pull into a garage in one they are going to assume you are rich, and charge you out the ass for any work they do. My dad grew up building hotrods and that was kind of his dream car, so he did all his own work usually.
