>>
>>724008398
Yeah for webhosting

>>724008446
I admin a network of servers in a datacenter
>>
has anyone ever hacked the gibson?
>>
>>724008190
How different is your job from that of a datacenter server admin?
>>
>>724008474
Admin? Swapping hard drives that fail?
>>
>>724008474
that's cool

what first got my interest in the tech industry in silicon valley was when I was a kid I'd go with my mother to work, she worked in a 3com NOC.. her office overlooked Great America and the Drop Zone.. good times
>>
>>724008190
Education history? no specifics just generalise.

Salary?
>>
>>724008544
I don't work with hardware verymuch.

Most control panels and ssh
>>
>>724008588
Just highschool and self taught stuff

30,000 entry level
>>
>>724008592
So, then you're just restarting Apache and IIS services when needed?
>>
>>724008592
ah

my mother made 75k a year taking care of their physical data center and WAN coverage
>>
>>724008646
every so often
Mostly i do IT support for our clients. We host the servers that run peoples websites.

make sure everything works properly including email
>>
Can I see if my metasploit skills are better than your security?
>>
>>724008474
>>724008592
Are you behind 7 proxies?
>>
>>724008770
Good luck.
I'm not giving you any info though

>>724008781
That would be very slow.
I work over vpn at home
>>
>>724008707
So, you don't configure anything? You rarely touch the services that keep things running for the websites? but you "make sure everything works properly including email'?.

Nice

You phrased this so badly that I'm having issues believing that this is something you do. Do you have some sort of proof?

Also, I'm a network administrator at a data center.
I know it's not the same thing you said you do, but it is fairly close.
>>
>>724008912
I wouldn't compare your job to this guy's. Your just insulting yourself
>>
>>724008890
they usually don't go wrong.
We run very high performance hardware and have written software to micromanage.

>>724008912
Possible because I'm in canada we have different names for stuff. Does where you're from have National Occupational Classification
>>
How about a timestamp. And do you know if there are any dependency issues with SSRS 2008 when migrating a vm to sql server 2014 ?
>>
>>724009035
Boi
he said he was entry level
>>
>>724008446
Good call, I was getting the same feeling myself.
>>
>>724009035
Google is an IT guys best friend

>>
>>724008707
So you're not an admin at all then.
>>
What certifications do you have? Do you plan to get more?
>>
>>724009218
What is an admin by your definition?

also why are you so insecure about who else does a similar job to you?
>>
>>724008190
how easy would it be for you to steal/sniff data and how hard could you get in trouble for it ?
>>
>>724009092
Entry level does not equal admin. Dude is clearly trying to bullshit us.
>>
>>724009344
lots of trouble
very easy

>>724009349
Dude who pissed in your cornflakes.
If I can rm -Rrf / I can destroy a server and they'd have to resort to a raid rebuild
If you're insecure about your job then talk to counseling
>>
>>724009267
If insecure means calling bullshit when I see it (or in this case read it) then your definition is skewed. Be careful anon, your butthurt it showing.

America has a Standard Occupation Classification, but I think the NOC you're looking for is the Network Operations Center, which is where a server administrator would work.
I work in a SOC, which is the Security Operations Center
>>
>>724009433
Use these insults as motivation to get to a career where you actually do things. Instead of trying to brag about how awesome your job is on 4chan
>>
>>724009460
I work in a NOC
canada has NOC for National Occupational Classification

>>724009530
What proof do you want?
I'll attempt to not breach security of my confidentiality contract
>>
>>724009580
I don't need proof. I just see how you're describing your position/duties. That's enough
>>
>>724009530
Lol
>>
>>724009530
Do you work with websites?
you my actually help me with a ticket.

When a website randomly 500s but has no performance throttling on the server what might cause that?
>>
Can you guys recommend me some certifications to get and not argue about stupid shit?
>>
>>724009724
A+, Net+, Linux
they'll take you lots of places.
>>
>>724009724
CCNA

The National Occupation Classification has nothing to do with computers, though. It's just a list of job names.
And it's not "a NOC" since there is only the one. It's "The National Occupation Classification"

A server administrator's NOC would stand for Network Operations Center. Someone who works there every day would know this.
Someone who just looked it up online because they saw >>724008398 say it wouldn't know this.
>>
>>724010011
Are you paying attention?

Noc for Network Operations Center
Is different for National Occupation Classification

I know that. I was talking to a totally different person. check the post numbers

>>
With the skills you have acquired... are you able to do any huge damage to society? Do you do hacker things and are you even capable of that
>>
>>724010232
Yeah NOC as in a datacenter
and NOC as in the canadian classification for jobs they're different NOCS
as I said in that post
>>
Here's some server status notifications I blacked out the confidential content
>>
>>724010301
Were you asking if where I'm from has a National Occupation Classification because "server data center admin" is what your job is called in your NOC list?
>>
>>724010232
Op is a faggot.
>>
>>724010461
I actually don't know it's just a name I put up to describe my job.

I mentioned the canadian NOC acronym because I figured we would have different definitions for admin
>>
>>
>>724010588
see
>>724010401
>>
>>724010511
The closest thing I can find that canada would label me as is server admin, but that's inaccurate as I manage a small datacenter.

ITT failed hackers with no lives sold out to the system go kill yourself you accomplished nerds, fucking pathetic.
>>
>>724011006
I bet you ddos a lot
do you know any other hacks?
>>
>>724009460
Server admins for big DCs rarely work in there physically. Everything is done remotely, in case of disaster or hw config asking for help from entry levels like OP. I do work in DCs all over the world, while being in EU.
>>
Hopefully thread is kill soon
i need to go to bed soon
>>
>>724008707
So helpdesk then
