No knock warrants do have a place but I don't think you should be arguing that the police force isn't being militarized when these tactics are used. I'm a armed security guard in a inner city. My company provides municipal law enforcement for a whole district.

We have full arrest powers, can cite people and preform traffic stops.

I think that most of the field officers in my area are too lazy to preform their jobs, most are illiterate and stupid. The only real reason they got the job was through contacts.

Most officers that I've come in contact with do the bare minimum, and the whole "standing with other officers" only makes shit worse. Especially for shit cops that are protected under their unions.

I guess if I'd got paid $25 and hour with a shit pension I'd do the same bottom tier effort.

OP, what do you think about asset forfeiture? I'm not talking about people being convicted, I mean when someone has money on them so you steal it and send them on their way.
