I was able to convince him not to take her to animal control or the humane society as they surely would have euthanized her. We found ourselves at Pima Pet Clinic, a cheaper clinic that could give her supportive care through the night, giving us time to find her owners who may be able to pay for her surgery. Once at the clinic, they demanded 1100 just to stabilize her overnight with fluids and pain medication and a urinary catheter. They said we would still have to come back to get her in the morning and take her to a specialist unless the owner came forward. Again, no one in our group could afford this amount of money and these clinics were all on the other side of town very inconveintly located. The leader of our group again declined to pay for this which was a fair decision on his part (I'm not blaming him). The veterinarian at Pima Pet Clinic said he could sign the dog over as an injured stray and they would do what is humane for her at no cost Little did we know that we were signing hope's death sentence. The veterinarian said they would assess her and may continue to stabilize her or they may put her to sleep if they felt she was suffering. Hope was stable when we left her at that clinic. I then began reaching out to rescue groups on line. My pleas for financial help were picking up and two rescue organizations stepped forward to pay for her bill at Pima Pet Clinic so she did not have to be euthanised. Everyone started to call the clinic but they refused to give updates AND REFUS ED THE FREAKING MONEY!!! All they wanted was money to start within a few hours we had raised nearly enough and they turned it down. It turns out they had euthanised her less then two hours after we had been there. We knew that she might euthanise when we signed her over, but we wanted her kept stable and eventually raised the money to keep her alive. They had no reason to euthanise her. We want answers. We came up with money for her and they still killed her.

Here is the facebook message that started it all. Within less then 24 hours, we were able to decrease their facebook rating from 4.7 to 2.2 and dropping!!!!

We still do not have answer as to why hope was euthanised. They are claiming that she developed pulmonary contusions. This is a lie. When we left her there she was stable and perfectly fine. They refused to even tell us that the dog had been euthanised until we hounded them with hundreds of calls. They finally called the man who was handling all the decisions and told him to tell us and get us to calm down. However, here is where they shot themselves in the foot: they initially told people calling that they cannot release information about Hope due to privaciy laws. But then, after things started to blow up and go viral on social media they broke their own law. I discuss this contradiction in my interview. Attached is the raw uncut footage of my new interview and we will see that there are no inconsistencies in MY version of even. Over 12 hours after inciident they posted a statement on their facebook page, which is full of inconsistencies and out right lies.

Last night some people were speaking out in defense of Pima Pet Clinic. However, this was not the only time people have complained about this place. Previous reviews show that they are greedy and only care about money and will kill animals that have no money.

I have nothing against the clinic personally. I and many of the rescue groups who have joined in to help Hope have decided to bring these issues to attention of the public and if they choose to shut these murders down then that is how it should be.
We want their license revoked. We won't let this matter rest. We demand Justice For Hope The Boxer. I will post our long term strategy next.

The plan:
We will continue to share Hopes story on all forms of social media.

We will file a complaint with the state board they acted illegally by releasing Hope's information (they admitted this themselves). We plan to hold a candle light vigil outside of the Veterinary Medical Review board until they address the complaints against Pima Pet Clinic.

I will continue to conduct interviews (trying to work on a national interview). Also, please noted that Pima Pet Clinic attempted to sabotage my interview which was supposed to air last night. They kept the reporter at their clinic for 45 minutes before starting, claiming there was an emergency. They thus started my interview late and were unable to air it in time.

This is not the first time Pima Pet Clinic has acted in an unscrupulous manner. They have been allowed to conduct a reign of terror on the innocent animals of Tucson for far far too long.

Thanks, I knew you guys would see our point of view. They are really trying hard to defend themselves. Last night they had a bunch of other vets from all over the country trying to defend their medical decisions and crying about how they have to pay saleries and it takes money for the clinic to operate. People are just shitty about killing dogs. They keep them alive for weeks after their kidneys fail and go blind or paralyzed. When a dog gets hit by a car you put it out of its misery don't drop 8000 to "save it" by the way even if they stabilized it it would still be in constant pain, you'd need to place and replace catheters ever time it needs to go to the rest room, and there would be more check ups and medication.

I just want to clarify something. The other clinics weren't just far from the first vet we took Hope to. They wanted an exorbiant amount of money. Apparently Pima Pet Clinic is the only 24 hour clinic in Tucson that will let people sign dogs over as strays if they can't pay. But why, if they are just going to kill them???? I just need to clarify something. The other clinics weren't just too far, that was not the main issue. The other clinics were quoting really high prices and would not work with us even to stabilize her and give her chance. Pima Pet Clinic is the only 24 hour vet that will take strays without payment. But why bother if you are going to just kill every poor dog???? Better to just let them suffer if you are going to kill them for being injured. I mean they posted lies about how much money they have given to help injured strays but that is bullshit because why didn't they give Hope anything??? See the inconsistencies here? Understand the communities frustration. We had no other option. humane society and animal control would have killed her almost immediately. There are basically 0 free spots available for animals. They keep the ones they think have a chance at adoption.

Apparently nobody adopts the crippled animals, so they don't even try.

The only hope Hope had was that one of the good Samaritans rescue her.

It's nice that you think bringing her to the vet is rescuing her, but that's the start.
You would have had to take responsibility for her whole life, pay her bill, then find an owner willing to either pay you $8000 for the dog, or you'd have to eat the cost.

As a vet tech what that hospital did was disgusting! While yes OP hit the dog he has no legal obligation to even pick up the dog. In fact if the owner came forward he could sue for the damage to his vehicle or if the judge is super nice emotional damage. That dog could have been saved. At my hospital we are next to a highway and we have gone out to get injured dogs and cats and stabilized them until owners were found. Im sorry you had to go through this but there are records that explain what they did.

I did find the righful owners last night. They do not blame me for the decisions and understand that I had to make difficult choices. They too are demanding answers from Pima Pet Clinic. They said the veterinarian called and explained the injuries. It is our opinion that they should have kept the dog alive long enough for the owners to make the deicision.

If what Pima Pet Clinic says is true, Hope's injuries could have been stabilized with oxygen, fluids and pain medication. There are ways to manage urine in dogs who cannot walk. If she really started coughing up blood like they told the owners then Hope could have had tube placed in her trachea and ventilated.
