yeah, I loved in the first one how the guy and his uncle were sabotaging the guy's rabbit farm while at the same time being super nice to him, even going as far as helping him and giving him advice.

but yeah, it was sad in the second film how everything goes to shit for the Soubeyrans. I guess maybe the whole story was supposed to be some kind of allegory about ...well I know it could be read as some kind of cautionary tale about capitalism, but I think it's more interesting to look really at the human side of it, for instance how some people's ambitions can become so crazy, so unrealistic that they lose track of everything that really matters, and how other people's jealousy and... maybe cruelty can just add fuel to all this? I don't know.
