I've checked what seems like an elven structure (a big tree with a roundish top) but it was desolate.
Has this place already been depopulated? Are the elves so adept at avoiding outsiders? Am I just an unbearable moron? How do you find elves?

We could try our luck to the east, where the settlement density of elves is higher. Or we could keep searching here, though it may be a waste of time.
We could also draw back to friendly ground and help ourselves to their stocks of food (drink isn't important because there's an infinite drink exploit that involves emptying your waterskin and refilling from the emptied water).
