Well if this actually is a Colorado thread I might as well ask my questions here.

I might be moving there in a couple of months. I don't know much about the state really. Its my girlfriend that wants to move for a position at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Whats the state like politically, red or blue? I looked it up and they seem kind of divided.

What are the gun laws like? And the demographics in the cities? I have American citizenship but grew up in Ireland, are Paddies liked, disliked or meh'd there?

So heres the deal. Slightly different community here at the csu campus but cu is just a richer and more snotty csu.
Get used to weed. Talking about it smoking it thinking about it being asked about it when youre out of state. Mostly the inner city is going to be demacratic. The majority of the younger groups were bernie lovers and then the rednecks got the upperhand when he quit out. Anywhere outside the city is pretty republican. Most people acknowledge guns and about a third actually own them. Mostly the people around here are interested in other cultures so the irish things an upperhand. Youll probably get alot of comments on an accent (good or bad) most of the time people are kidding when it comes to race or accents. You really never know.
Look at it like this. Everyone smokes pot and everyone who doesnt just doesnt really care. So thats the college and mountain area. Denvers sketchy as fuck though. Fun to visit shitty to live in. I was there for three years and couldnt wait to get back up north. And 5 points is CO's compton.

Interesting that CO is pretty representative of the US as a whole regarding politics. Big cities are Democrat and everything else is Republican. I was born in the US so can vote in elections but I've abstained always because I never lived or paid taxes there full time, so didn't feel it was right.

I'm from Dublin so most Americans tend to think I am English when they hear my accent but thats cool that it sounds fairly welcoming.

Moved from KS to Denver about a year ago. Most of the natives are very butt hurt here because "muh rent" "muh legalized weed".
