Andrew Wakefield was working for lawyers who worked for companies who were making NEW vaccines. Hence, by proving modern vaccines unsafe (which they fucking aren't), he and his employers would have made a mountain of money. Ironically, the force of financialization of medicine were working AGAINST the modern vaccine system.

Only because of people's unfounded concerns, thiomersal has been removed from most vaccines, so that bullshit argument isn't even valid anymore.

A huge reason why we have increasing rates of autism are 1. kids spending more time in front of a screen growing up (aka us autists) 2. more kids actually entering formal screening programs, e.g. a kid who used to grow up on a farm was just "that weird kid" and never had an official diagnosis 3. increasing ages of fathers, which cause increased rates of single-base-pair mutations in DNA, which are linked to an increase in risk of autism spectrum behaviors.

But since people with hardly education want to think they're smarter than everyone else, they watch some horseshit youtube videos and go full Alex Jones "Interdimensional Child Molesters" on everyone
