I've been through the whole loop with the law. You'll most likely just be kicked out if you cooperate. The best thing you can do if confronted is to put the bottle down and just run out of the store. If you ever come back, don't for a while and get a haircut and outfit change

Yes, eventually you will. More often than not, the AP staff will just approach you in store and tell you give it back, ask you to leave, and that will be the end of it. But if you build a record for yourself for constantly getting caught, or we simply have footage of you doing it all the time, eventually we'd apprehend you and call the police. When you are apprehended we trespass you from all Targets for 2 years. Your charge will vary by city; some cops are lax and will let you get your court date in the mail. At my store, we send them to jail with bond every time. Every shoplift is a misdemeanor. Any shoplift $750 or above is a felony. If you shoplift again while on trespass for the 2 years you'll be charged with burglary.
