I live in the country well outside of Atlanta. I work and play in the city, though. When I'm a pedestrian I hate drivers, and when I'm a driver I hate pedestrians. But I ALWAYS hate cyclists. Up until now one of the more important road rules was "don't cross the double white line" down the middle of a road. These lines are marked on the road where there is not sufficient vision of oncoming traffic to overtake without a potential collision.

The problem here is that it is ok to ride a basic mechanical vehicle weighting 1/20th+ the weight with the equivalent of zero safety gear and crumple zones than the proper transportation vehicles around traveling at speeds 2-8 times faster.

I live in a town full of dumb fucks who ride their bikes on the main roads where the speed limit is 40 and 50 mph. They jump in front of traffic without looking ALL THE TIME and even made the news as a local complaint. But police still arrest drivers for hitting bikers and pedestrians even when witnesses prove the biker/pedestrian was at fault. This just proves the police are here to implement an additional tax on people since those arrested are forced to pay steep fines to keep their hits off their record so they don't lose their job.
