Totally denies climate science - CHECK!
Has totally dismantled the EPA - CHECK!
Has totally de-regulated the coal industry - CHECK!

Meanwhile temps in Chicago reach record highs, and are even higher than the temps in LA.

This is becoming the "new normal" under this president.

Yes, I voted for him and you bet your ass I still support him. The man is a gift from God. He's keeping his promises and doing what is best for this country. You can think we're a joke, those who supported him, but in case you haven't figured it out we jokes hold the power in this country. We put him in the White House to do exactly what he's now doing. You can kick and scream and piss yourself laughing like a toddler all you want, but the adults took this country back this election and President Trump is making US proud. America is greater at this moment than it's been in a very long time. Just because you see the appearance of a farce in your simplistic little mind doesn't mean he's not doing a damn fine job. Every leader of every other country and every citizen of every foreign land--they can all think we're a joke, it doesn't matter. President Trump is doing what's best for America and we are getting stronger because of it. Trust me kid, you'll see, very soon.

I think you better read up on the latest revelations about that. It's not 97% any longer as they were using faulty models, and were told not to correct them by political influences. If they wanted to keep receiving their grant money, they had to play ball. Now things are changing and the truth is coming out.

Climate change is real. Man has very little influence over it however.

There was a time in history when academia was pretty much unified in the belief that the four humours regulated the human body. There was a time in history when academia thought it was insulting to suggest that doctors were getting babies sick because they didn't wash their hands between autopsies and deliveries.

There are multiple theories to explain the recent trend of temperatures. There are also ice core samples indicating that global temperatures rising and falling is a regular occurrence that's been happening for millions of years in a self-regulating system.

Back in the late 80's and early 90's when this became a major political issue, it was "but if there's even a CHANCE it's our fault we should take action" followed by a couple of decades worth of "we're taking action to minimize our impact" so the current generation grew up just assuming that it was a given that we're the cause of temperature shifts. We still don't actually *know* that and it will be a century or so of observation and comparison of periods both with and without regulation in order to prove a causal link.

To wit, if you want it to actually be proven, you have to let them lift the regulations so you can prove that the temperatures are actually being affected by EPA regulation. Until you let them do that, they can always claim that it's a coincidence that the cooling and the regulations happened at the same time.

How about I "make up" some numbers for you?

>Average American uses 8 liters of gasoline each day

Do you agree with this fact?
>There are 310,000,000 US citizens
Do you agree with this fact?
>There are 365 days in the year
Do you agree with this fact?

Great, know let's do some math
8*310,000,000=2,480,000,000 liters/day
2,480,000,000*1.57=3,893,600,000Kg/day
3,893,600,000×365=1,421,164,000,000Kg/year
>1,421,164,000 metric tonnes
>1.42 metric gigatons of CO2 added to the atmosphere each year by the US alone

Think something like that might have an effect?

*energy* is not bad though, no environmentalist would argue it is

Energy from dirty fossil fuel sources that will run out/ cause air pollution/ contibute to global warming are on the whole bad. Disinvestment from these energy sources should be encouraged.

Energy from clean, unlimited, renewable sources are obviously the future. I don't like nuclear as it is unstable, but it's probably necessary for the short term (20-30 years) of transitioning to a post carbon economy and world.

Obviously internet uses energy, we just need to get this energy from better sources faggot

Not that guy, but not nearly as much as it used to cost. Solar is becoming as economically feasible as fossil fuels. In the competitive capitalist market we live in, solar will only come sooner. After solar will either come nuclear or wind, neither of which require much space. Since they're trying to bring coal back, these energies will come much faster than if they weren't.
>>
>>722856678
>*energy* is not bad though
>>722856742
>electricty isn't the problem.

Right now in this day and age. It is. Most electricity comes from coal power in the US. We're not allowed to build any more hydro plants because of EPA regulations. We're not allowed to build any new nuke plants due to EPA regulations. Both are very good sources of electricity with ZERO CO2 emissions. Instead let's waste BILLIONS on bullshit technology like wind power, and solar (which is not efficient at all and still in its infancy). Spend money researching those areas, but they clearly not ready for consumer use yet. Meanwhile who's going to pay to take down all of those eye-sore windmills in 30 years when they've failed and people realize that the technology should not have been used.

Hydro-electric power is one of the best current sources we have available to us, but "hurr: the fish can't spawn in their native grounds" stops us. You can't have it both ways. We either use the best current technology while we study new ones and perfect them (and the fish will adapt), or we continue to use coal. You can't simply pull the plug on society, or tax the fuck out of this stuff, when we have other much better solutions available to us right now.

No one denies climate change, it is man made climate change that is under speculation, and with the amount of falsified data coming out of the EPA it's hard to believe in anything the left has put out on environmental science in the last decade.
Sorry coal is not dead yet and is the cheapest source of energy..?

Also records break every year. The mean temperature is still only about 1 degree higher than it was in the fifties. An increase that was well with in normal limits a hundred years prior and was more mild than the temperature fluctuations two hundred years before that.

I'm not saying that we don't produce a fuckton of CO2. Personally I also think that the rivers of 70+mph traffic for thousands of miles on end (the interstate system) should be looked at as a contributing factor in increasingly violent weather systems. Here is the reality of Trump's claims...

1. Jobs - he claims he inherited a mess from his predecessor. For a year and a half since Obama's inauguration, there was a mostly negative effect from what the end of Bush's term on employment, but from mid 2010 onward the employment figures were positive and did not drop once.

Result: Trump lied.

2. Shares and the Financial sector will grow. Well there was no doubt about that, a businessman in charge would always bring positives to businessmen and shareholders.

Result: Trump truth - shares in the S&P 500 has risen.

3. I have done more in this office in the first month than Obama. Trump has done 28 executive orders in the first month, while Obama did 27 in his.

Result : Trump lied.

4. I will get rid of illegals from the US more so than what Obama did. The reality is this.. during Obama's 8 years. The least amount of illegals he sent packing was 320k the highest being 2013 just under 430k. Obama's average was 385k vs Bush's avg of 240k.

Result: Trump Lied. In fact his policy will encourage illegal immigrants due to the loopholes and blind spots created by his stupid EO.

5. I will repeal Obamacare and people will be better off. During Obamacare the number of uninsured people dropped from 15.8% to 8.2% of the population as it was more affordable and available to all.

Result: Trump semi-lied, he wasn't truthful to people about how much people were better off with Obamacare than Bush's administration.. which is what Trump has returned to.

There is clearly more that could be said.

But Americans ignore this information, in fact all that data can be checked on the US Dept of Home Security, CDC, US Bureau of Labor, Whitehouse sites for that data.

There is no conspiracy as those a legit sites and sources, I am not a liberal either (the usual warcry of the Trump supporters when they are faced with facts they cannot deny) and I am not American.

So enjoy your next 4 years.

Because your economy is about to implode.

Just look up American Presidency Project and you can see everything.

Like Trump he had the same amount of Executive Orders.

One for strengthening the failing employment problem in the US which took over a year to finally bring in more business to the US and more employment. He also had his Obamacare as EO which resulted in more people being insured than any other administration.

He also encouraged the war on terror by doing it safely, and in the end he caught Osama Bin Laden. Which is something people forget too easily.

He also managed to hit more Islamic Extremist leaders in his 8 years than Bush did with his 8.

Trump in his first month managed to kill innocent kids and his own troops with a failed operation, that had no planning what so ever as he wanted to show off to the US citizens that he was doing something.

One of his EO gets blocked by High Court. The infamous bullshit border rubbish.

His other EO for control on borders exists, but it has blocked people from entering the US even when they are not from the banned countries. Sports persons, politicians etc have been blocked because at one point in their career they have been to Iran or Iraq in their sport or political capabilities.

A few people from the UK were not allowed in to the US because they would not share their cellphone or tablet device passwords, because the US border guards think they have every right to your private data on your devices you carry. One guy who is a corporate big wig for a German engineer firm was blocked for the same reason, and he basically stopped trading with the US for technical parts needed by the US's infrastructure to function.

That's your America right now.

It will alienate people and business and America will suffer for it, economically for definite.

That isn't even what you're doing.
You're not dividing the total consumption by the total consuming population to get the average. You're multiplying an estimate by the consuming *and* nonconsuming population to get an egregiously inflated figure. That is the exact opposite of "average".

Because Hillary was a far worse choice. Now I say give Trump a chance, and let's wait and see how he actually does. It's way too early to tell yet, and he's barely been in office.

It's also clear that the media won't do that. The Russian thing is not really a thing. If it becomes one, then I'll worry about it then. For now it's nothing more than media hype and speculation. The media clearly become even more biased than ever before, and had their horse in the race but lost. Now they are out for revenge, that much is clear.

I'm sure you'll try to denigrate these sources without being able to refute their arguments. Just as you'd do the same to any other source I quote, and in attempted rebuttal probably quote the less-than-3% of scientists who currently (and for various reasons) continue to deny the overwhelming evidence), because your 3% beats my 97%.

Let's do some math that doesn't involve toddlers, shall we?
Let's look at
>emissions from the average car
about 4.7 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year
(https://www.epa.gov/greenvehicles/greenhouse-gas-emissions-typical-passenger-vehicle-0)
>number of vehicles
261.8 million
(https://hedgescompany.com/automotive-market-research-statistics/auto-mailing-lists-and-marketing)
That gets us 1,260.07 metric gigatons, which means your margin of error was about 12.7%. Again, I'm not saying we don't produce a shitload of CO2, but your math is demonstrably flawed.
