Yo, /b/, I need your help.
If anyone is a lawyer in here, who is familiar with AL finance law, I need your advice
I have a buddy who bought a truck from one of those "u buy car here mang. iz gut" places. The original payment was 430 a month.
He made all his payments on time. But somewhere along the line, the pulled the ol' switcheroo on him, and now apparently he's behind on the truck. They increased his payments and now he apparently owes them $2500 in late fees. He is still make the payments but they are repo'ing the truck.
He is a disabled navy vet and he needs the car to get back and forth to the VA and to get his daughter to school.
Wat do?

If he can show detailed descriptions of payment, and exactly when they raised the rates. he can take them to court and try to get as much out of them as possible. It should be an easy win as long as he's as much in the right as you say he is. A judge or jury would eat the living shit out of a sleezy car guy ripping off a disabled vet.

If he was paying by check he just needs to show the sequential #'s and the dates and other checks that cleared. Judge will eat that up. If paying with cash, dated receipts.
If direct payment, show statement.
I'm guessing check and the dealership held them so they were deposited late. Very common.
If he has none of the above you're being BS'd by him.
