Need some help /b/
mu best friend is autistic and is way into technology but as a result is completely removed from realitly. sometimes he talks about how the future is gunna be awesome because everything will be run ny robots and we humans can live in comfort.
i use the animated movie wall-e as an example to show him that being technology dependent is toxic and will ultimately be our undoing. and being be autisic, he is offended that i dare criticize technolgicol progression. how do i snap him out of his fantasy without him hating me? i try simple logic, ie; if robots did everything noone would have a job and we would all be slaves to technology and suffer as a result, but it doesn't seem to work. he is completely sold on the idea of living in a simulation pod. wat do, plz help. i dont want to unfriend him but he is just so irrational it bothers me greatly.

Tell him that by the time those things exist, he'll be much older and might not feel the same way as he does now. Get him to explore other hokies that he might be interested in, like game design or film msking, or flying drones, or coding, etc. Stuff connected to technology so he can branch out without going cold turkey
