does it ever get annoying having a bunch of Americans trying to mimic you like weeaboos trying to adapt to your culture because they lack any form of identity? I've noticed this a lot in America. It's not a melting pot of cultures its the absence of culture and many people attach themselves and the entirety of their identity to movies, brands, comics, videogames, politics, other nations, .etc.

I respect other nations and races .etc I have great respect for many western and eastern nations but I don't invest all of my own identity in them.

I used to get annoyed of the seemingly unjust amount of criticism towards America but this was under the impression that I was not an exception. I realized I was wrong as I grew older now I kind of relate to a lot of the criticism. I do still love aspects of this country but other aspects give me ass cancer.

So does it ever get fucking old?

i find it to be endearing, mostly foreigners do it not out of spite but because they find our romantic history to be interesting to them; they adapting the best exported values we have or had is not a bad thing. that said, it reaches a point of stupiditiy sometimes when they misunderstand what russian ideals and culture are, and used to be too,. it doesn't cross the line of offensive but rather just like yokels trying to have a culture.

think like the pacific islanders trying to reconstruct western technology based on aesthetic, not function, and expecting it to work. it's cute but also naive.

I feel you on that man. I guess I get irritated by it because I see more of the latter of your examples. People who enjoy the culture but inadvertently mock it. Like I said I have great respect for many cultures and have a love for history but I don't try to force myself into a culture I prefer to enjoy them at a distance while preserving my own.

I feel very estranged from my fellow man in the US. I don't know how it is in other countries but in the US its like most people don't even want to socialize anymore. They prefer to stay indoors and admire other cultures and are generally miserable.

russia is much the same though in regards to staying inside and admiring others, everything stagnated after soviet union and now people either want to go back there, so they sit nostalgic inside and listen to old records, or they sit admiring the EU from a distance knowing they will never make it there.
