At what point in your life did you start feeling empathy for others?

Around the time I turned twenty or so. I had a realization that being an angsty teen was doing me no favors, I disregarded others and their feelings when I was a teenager unless it benefited me in someway. It turned out that being that way made people not want to associate with me. So I started to really think of the impact my words and actions had on others feelings and emotions, and slowly changed my outlook on my life and how I treated people. Before long I started feeling genuinely concerned about others and what they're going through.
Around 15-16? I think when I got old enough to experience life I started to realize everyone has problems, just like me. That they're all struggling too.

When I realized how shitty life is to most people, including me.
