fucking show is dull as fuck and played its entire hand

i can't even watch it because i'm a sarcastic douch and say "ha check it, (character) will say (predictable quote) and (possibly other character) is going to get killed for (saying it, saying what he's about to do, etc)". i'm not even allowed to watch it with the gf anymore because I ruined seven episodes in a row of season three.

the books are worse. they're written by a manchild who has a hardon for blonde dragon princesses and incest, but the plot's basically just stolen from the war of the roses, so there's no real point in reading both it seems. basically the plot is "blonde dragon chick gets raped a bunch but secretly likes it, eventually wins because she's my fetish fuel, also there's this other continent where all the good guys die in predictable ways that are brought about either by tragic or character flaws, oh and some villains die, frequently in predictable ways but sometimes at random just to keep you on your toes." tada, ALL of game of thrones is now spoilt. it's a shit book with a shit series written by a hack author.

Also, I honestly don't think anybody has talked about that show in at least 2 years.

It's probably my favorite show of all time, and I started watching it early on, before it became huge. I saw it on Netflix and remembered seeing the ad for the first season a while ago and it looked interesting, so I decided to check it out, and I was instantly more hooked than I had been on any show since....probably Lost.
It's one of the greatest TV shows ever made, thanks to the characters and story (so the writing and actors, I guess). Obviously it's not perfect, nothing is, but the point is that it is REALLY fucking enjoyable to watch. It's captivating. At least for most people.
