Wing commander was the shit, first privateer was good but they really had stepped up their game for the second privateer. Could have done without Clive Owen and the DVD cut scenes looking back at it but for the time they were pretty badass

Thats why you send a load of them in first. they last long enough to get within damage range of the enemy defence turrets, detonate and take them down, followed by siege tanks and launchers.
The other way was to find that sweet spot where the enemy turrets couldn't get your launchers but your launchers could get them, take down the turrets, then rape the base with the devs.

Pong, as a little kid. A lot of the sierra games as a teenager (space quest/leisure suit larry/kings quest etc), not much into my late teens/early 20s, and then I got into and stayed with MMO's because to this day they rely on client-side inputs to decrease server load and they're really easy to fuck with other players on.

Lands of the Lore I think...
>>722573954
Op here
I think the reason we played a lot these earlier 90s games like duke nukem and heretic and all the other great dos games, is because games in that era moved at a much slower pace, like doom for example, that game came out in 93 (the year I was born) that game was relevant way up until my late primary school years, (early 2000s) every kid in my school had it, we used to go to each other's houses and play it after school, even though it was 10 years old at the time,
where as games today move at a much faster pace, take call of duty for example, it's stale 6 months after its release, even with dlc, and a new one comes out every 12 months, which is likewise with many other games
And that is why I think us in our early 20s, played so many of your generations great video games
>>722581015
That makes sense
14
>>722568838
Cool game. Not as memorable as doom though. Good flavor, just didn't have the epic level design that doom had.
>>722578174
i'm 35 and you played the same games as me...
DId you get hand me down game systems from an older brother?
>>722582475
Im the oldest. My dad used to own a grocery store, and he got game advice from the workers he had. I used to sit in his lap when i was 2 opening the doors and shooting while he moved in doom. Great times. Played allot of mortal kombat aswell. My friends had ps2s and i still only had my sega
I had a TRS-80. Good times.
>>722574814
I remember when my cousins got Pong. It was the shit back then. A video game console in someone's home? Unheard of!!

>>722585689 god damn the White Tower was a bitch - unless you played it backwards and went there before Yvel.
Yes it was - though I don't know anywhere you can get the second and third games (which were sub par given the high standard set by the first). Also at that point they were also doing that weird live actor thing that a lot of companies were doing in the early/mid nineties.
27
>>722586511
if tis done right it worked well. I loved the wing commander series.
>>722586213
I was never able to find the first with english cd audio (not that it matters as I have the CD) and since the second and third weren't as good I never bothered with those.
>>722569371
Hahah greatest timewaster in history. Could start playing and not realise3 hours had passed. Not even doom II did that.
And the algorithm was pretty good at making life difficult too for it's day.
And you got to make ridiculously cunning defense traps. Well they seemed ridiculously cunning back then.
>>722586814
That is very true - but this wasn't.
>>722578174
Played Doom and Doom II so much I used to dream about them, Then get up & start playing again.
Might and magic 6. Always made everyone knights as a kid so I never could never beat the game
