thc is soluble in alcohol, that's why high proof is specified. you can use everclear to make shatter, you just pour it over bud so that the thc dissolves in the alcohol, then you let the alcohol evaporate and shatter is left over. people make tinctures all the time too from stuff like everclear and absinthe. that would be what you're making except you won't be having to strain or anything since trichomes (kief) are mostly thc to begin with.

just stir it well until it's dissolved.

here's the most important part though: decarb your kief first or it's not gonna do much for you.

Weight it out and simmer the lowest you can in coconut oil with some water or in a crockpot. Make sure you stir at low simmer for at least 20min if you are lazy. An hour is fine.
Add water as needed. Once done cooking strain through a tea cloth while still warm. Stick the container in the freezer. Split the oil from the frozen water and enjoy.

Basically whenever I have leftover ground bud and want to smoke something new, it goes in my "shake jar"; which eventually gets used for rolling joints in a group setting. I've found that periodically emptying my kief into my shake jar makes the period joints a bit more potent and I never even notice it.

I actually do this with reclaim from my dab only rig, use everclear. since the oil has already been heated its been decarboxylated. its gives you a super relaxing high just taste like ass when you drink it. suggest mixing lemon and seltzer. for me about .25 fl oz was enough to get me pretty high. .75 + fl oz and i'd be gone.
