Music taste is subjective, and the only objectivity in music is legacy.
Black Sabbath has inspired an almost ridiculous number of bands.
Black Sabbath is unique in the sense that they inspired not just many bands, but whole genres of music. You can't say that about very many artists.

There are a very limited number of bands that you couldn't say "they fucking suck" about, and Sabbath is one of them.
Sabbath is also too similar to either Pink Floyd or The Doors for you to be saying that out of anything other than bitterness that that anon shit-talked your favourite band. Don't be disingenuous, and don't be such a fag.

In my opinion, the first six Sabbath albums are perfect, Technical Ecstasy has a few great songs (especially Dirty Women, which is one of their best), and the only Never Say Die track that grabbed my attention was A Hard Road, which is basically unknown as far as the rest of their discography goes.

Dio did a good job too, and I quite liked 13.

I never see where people are coming from, here. There's plenty of experimentation happening in modern music and there are plenty of good bands out there that have popped up within the past decade. All of the bands I've posted in this thread so far are new (Ne Obliviscaris, Rishloo, Kayo Dot) and some of the others in my library can't really be pinned to a specific genre. Music evolves in stages, gradually, new genres rarely just bust out of the framework and even then, the bands behind them don't always succeed in such a competitive industry. It might have seemed more substantial back in the 60s/70s because the technology behind the music itself was just being integrated into our society.

Keep in mind that while I think those three are excellent bands, Kayo Dot's really the only one I would classify as being something truly "new". The others certainly have garnered their own sounds and are damn good at what they do, but they aren't really original in every aspect, nor do I think they necessarily need to be. As I said, gradual change.

Queen!! Hands down the best band to ever strike a note. A dental student, astronomy student, teacher and fashion designer bashed into one diverse harmonious orgy resulting in the birth of the largest anthems of all time. Rolling back to the early days they had some magic numbers that are less known such as millionaire waltz, March of the black queen, white queen all the way through to the jazz, disco and pop based albums.
