>Yeah that's pretty shitty, give more of a incentive to cheat on exams instead of learning through labs, group projects and weekly homework.
No, I wish my grades were only through test scores. In high school, everyone cheated on the enormous amount of homework and it made my grades shit since I didn't cheat on homework. Nothing but tests should be graded.

The point is that when you are at a job you will have access to books, experainced co-workers and the internet and will spend more time doing research than the actual maths behind it. So the point of memorising the equations is very mute in the workforce. How you solve to problem is more important than doing the maths behind it.
I' all sweaty and done at the gym. Night cutie homos.
Keatonposter, see move 17. You captured a pawn when moving in front of my king would have been checkmate. I couldn't attack your queen with my king because your knight.

>>721630368
I'm not sure I see what you're saying. If I took the pawn in front of your king? Are you saying G4 or F2? This is easier when I can actually be shown, like, the actual move, you know?

More or less the turmoil right now in the world has people scared.
I just assume that you mean F2 and not G4 because F2 is the only pawn you could have defended with your king. I also assume that what you're saying I'm totally missing.
>>721630686
and we be back at square one.
Like I said, I'm not very good at the game, and a lot of my shit I just luck into by playing erratically without being materialistic.
>>721630600
You went to G4 when G2 was checkmate. And it's all fine. Wanna play a 2nd game?
>>721630790
Are you talking about Bf 109s? Man, F2 had shitty armament, only two 7.92s and one 15mm while G series had at least one 20mm mg151 and germans replaced 7.92mm mg17s with 13mm mg131s. G series forever, man. Even E series had better armament than early F series.

This is #16. I think we have far different ideas about what art is, or at least what we are seeking in our own work. It's fine, but I can really only speak from my own point of view.

>>721633247
See, unfortunately as far as photography goes, it's very out of my zone of knowledge. A lot of these could do with some significant cropping to make the composition more interesting. But as you can tell, I'm very much the non-objective artist. A lot of my criticism of objective work comes in the form of the showing of too much. You understand? I'm the sort of person who thinks in terms of only the bare essentials.
>>721633378
for sure, although valentines is still like a week away
>>721633442
oh no, think you've caught what they have?
I think warm drinks help. sore throats are the worst
>>721632519
sleep on your side with a long pillow between your legs
I am horribly untrained in photography as it were. I can only name one photographer in my roster of artists, and he was an abstract photographer. Even though his work in photographic, it's far enough removed from any sort of truly discernible subject matter that it becomes a form of nonobjectivity while utilizing the most objective tool available.
>>721633578
shit you're right. i havent thought about it.
oh well, can never be too early for a qt like you <3
>>721633470
>A lot of these could do with some significant cropping to make the composition more interesting.
Useful knowledge. Should I do this via zoom during photography or cropping afterwards?
I think I understand.
>>721633738
That'll be uncomfortable for my shoulders though. I need to learn how to sleep on my back without feeling shit.
>>721633834
it's not uncomfortable if your head pillow is the proper thickness and your mattress is not too stiff
>>721633751
Cameras aren't objective. The photographer can do so much to make things different from the way your eye sees things. Post some of his work, maybe?
>>721633766
a weeklong valentines wouldn't be too bad if you have someone to share it with
also, check steam
>>721633871
My mattress sucks and I can't change that. I do however own two pillows, but both pillows are too thick, especially one of them.
Anyone got some chubby butts to share?
>>721633992
Why do you post in fur threads, keatonposter? Why now, and why originally?
>>721633578
Yeah I'm almost sure I did, But it was worth it.
I just don't want to give it back to them they actually have shit to do.
This is a photograph that Siskind took of a road. He would find an abstract image in wholly objective scenery.
>>721633799
A combination of both. Zooming too much will cause the image to go out of focus, so you'll have to tinker with the settings on the camera when you use the camera to actually zoom. But even after you take the picture, go into photoshop or something similar and crop/fix the problems, reduce the noise and all that.
>>721633879
Objective in that what is captured on film is what is captured on film. A photographer can drastically change the way things look in camera, Ansel Adams is famous for taking a solid grey cliff side as his subject and tinkering with the settings on his camera to create a dynamic image. But even then, what it is is what it is.
>>721634110
Boredom. Boredom then and boredom now, there are some people who I enjoy talking to here though.
>>721634145
well hopefully it doesn't last very long and isn;t too horrible
He would zoom and crop the image until what it actually was disappeared and what you were left with was an image wholly removed from what it was originally. His photographs could easily be mistaken for the paintings of the Abstract Expressionists, yet they weren't photographs of paintings, they were photographs of tangible objects like roads and walls, sidewalks, shadows, etc.
>>721634265
It's pretty, it makes me wonder how far he's zoomed in, and what that texture really is. I like it a lot.
Zooming isn't bad for focus as far as I understand: you just focus after adjusting the zoom on the lens.
>what is captured on film is what is captured on film
Even with physical film you can edit what's on it. Dodge, burn, etc.
And I see. Do you browse any blue boards on 4chan?
>>721634313
Knowing my luck it probably will be, The main thing that annoys me is how much being sick restricts you.
Makes me feel antisocial.
I don't want people around so I don't get them sick, Let alone touch or get close to me.
>>721634576
>when characters try to show how loose their anus is by stretching it out
disgusting
>>721634576
as long as you aren't coughing onto everyone I don't think people will mind. and if they get sick then you can hang out in sickness together
>>721634654
I rarely get sick, so when I do I feel awful. I don't think if I were sick, I'd want to hang out at all.
>but I don't have anyone to hang out with anyway
life is great xDDDDDDDDDDDD
>>721634488
Yes, you can certainly do that, but even then you're looking at something deliberate, it's now a physical feature of the film itself, a burn, or an over exposure, or whatever. The photographer has a lot of control, and as cameras have gotten better their control has greatly increased, but at the end of it all the level of control they have is limited without turning to something like photoshop, which is fine. There was a photographer that I was mildly interested in several years ago, he used to take photographs of edges of walls/vehicles, then photoshop them into strange grid like compositions. Yeah, you have to tinker with the settings as you're zooming to make sure it stays in focus. But when you start to get in to a certain point no amount of tinkering will make it completely clear. At least from my understanding.
/x/ and /ic/ sometimes. I have an interest in the paranormal as well as cryptids and occasionally you can find a good thread about pens or some neat comics posted on /ic/.
>>721634717
then infect people and then bond over how you're both sick
I've checked out /co/, but for the most part it's big name comics. Not a lot of talk of the people I like so I tend to avoid it.
The level of control a painter has when compared to a photographer is miles beyond it. A painter can control literally every aspect of their work from the paint, to the surface, to the size, to the brushes, the kind of thinner, etc. A photographer will always be somewhat limited.
>>721634654
Eh its more about how it makes me feel to be sick, I just get annoyed far too easily and I have no motivation.
I seem really distant.
>>721634803
True. You're limited by physics and optics. I feel optics is very flexible and powerful in itself though, rather than limited. GIMP or photoshop are limited by only having pixels rather than light reflected from real objects. But they're just different tools, which all can be used.
I see.
You can find stuff about fountain pens on /g/ too, which is a board I browse often. I browse /jp/ the most though. I used to browse /x/, because I want to understand UFOs. But I don't browse it at night since thinking about aliens activates my human fear of the dark, making me unable to sleep until after sunrise.
>>721634844
But I'd feel to sick for bonding!
>>721635051
yeah, that part of it really sucks. hope you get better soon
>>721635074
you can all sit there and complain how being sick sucks
>>721635043
You're right in that a painter can far more easily make a fiction. If a photographer wants to do that, he has to either understand optics very well, or build exactly what he wants to photograph.
>>721634614
Durrrrrr.
>>721635142
Thanks, Maybe I should talk in these more instead of being a non social troll who just reads everyone's conversation.
I like how photography has inspired artists to make less photorealistic paintings.
>>721635262
>Durrrrrr.
????
>>721635262
yeah, once you find people to talk with it's great
hrxdy
>>721635074
Yes, and like I said, photography is something where you sort of have to picture the image finished before you even take it. Painting allows for that insane level of play. There isn't anything wrong with photography, there just isn't too much of it that has excited me. It's all good to me though, just different means to express the aims of the artist.
It's not so much fountain pens I take suggestions on. I own a number of them and know a fair deal about them in general as I've been using them for over ten years. I always browse /x/ late at night.
>>721635143
A painter can make a fiction or a whole and complete reality more easily I feel. A photograph is often only an instant, a painting is an event. A thing that is always happening. It's probably just my bias that makes me think that though.
>>721635370
Same actually.
>>721635310
Tromp l'oeil is still somewhat prevalent in the art world. I would suggest looking at Richter's objective paintings. They look just like blurry photographs.
>>721635317
Yeah I agree, I've had some bad experiences though.
Eventually feeling like I've lead someone on unintentionally but that's a far different context than here.
>>721635395
Yup~
I only own one pen, which I got a few years ago. I used it in college but don't need it now as a NEET, as I just am at my computer and type.
With long exposure photographs you can get more dynamism into your photos. It depends.
I do love tromp l'oeil though. I love paintings. For a large portion of my life, I spent most my time online on art sites.
I'm going to sleep though. It's 6 AM.
>>721635522

I feel bad for laughing at that, But I've had plenty of similar experiences on here.
I frequently leave for months at a time as per the rule of another namefag shows up, Only to never be seen again.
Maybe I'll keep it up this time who knows.
>>721635983
yeah, I laugh at it too. I think he's mellowed out slightly since then
it'd be nice to have a continous name to chat with
>>721635666
Pens are great, I own several different kinds of pens. My favorite are the fountain pen Ive had for about ten years and my rapid-o-graphs. And a brush pen.
See ya round.
It's dead in here, and I've secured the money to pay the printing fee. I'm getting more and more hyped for this shit.
I'll need to remember to show Martin an example of what I mean by cropping next time I see him. There's some dynamic shit in there, but it's lost in all the clutter of the rest of it.
Also some stuff about composition itself.
Things like negative space and all that garbage.
