TRUMP: Some love him, some hate him, now, I want to hear /b/'s neutral opinions on him.
>>
His election shows how dumb and TV addicted Americans have gotten. They voted for a sleazy real-estate crook because they believe he's some business genius who can save their fucked economy.
He won't. Men like him are the reason the economy is fucked and he's just going to betray the exact people who supported him.

Of course I hate the guy, he's a sorry excuse for a human being, but even if he gets impeached or ripped apart by feral dogs it won't solve the problem. Americans just need to get smarter.
>>
>>721381558
>neutral opinion
>sleazy real-estate crook
>>
>>721381740
Opinions by their very nature are not neutral.
You want me to like that piece of shit? I don't.
>>
>>721382170
You can not feel one strong way or another
>>
Trump is not that body type.
>>
>sleazy real estate crook
I think everyone knows he's a crook. It's a well documented fact that he doesn't pay contractors, and working people have lost their jobs & businesses because of it. He's used bankruptcy to weasel out of bills numerous times. And all the time he's flying around in private jets and pissing in gold plated toilets. Trump has never suffered because of the suffering he's caused.

The problem is there's millions of people who just don't care. They see him on his reality TV show and think if they support him they're somehow gonna get a gold plated toilet too.

It think that's Anon2's point. Amerifats are just dumb enough to believe anything they see on their idiot box.
>>
Better him than Hillary. We had to shot ourselves in the foot, but at least we'll probably survive.
>>
>>721380978
I know nothing about politics and dont give a shit who's president, but the election and events that followed were entertaining and I'm happy.
Regarding the guy himself; I think he's okay judging by his taste in women.

Im not americunt
>>
>>721383369
Bullshit.
For 30 years the right-wingers have been trying to make their stupid case that Hillary Clinton is crooked. Dozens of investigations and tens of millions of taxpayer dollars have been flushed and they've found nothing.
The only reason they're all so terrfied of her is that she's good at what she does and she's not working for them.

Then they all rally behind a guy who's an enormous, undisputed crook. Everything they accuse Hillary of doing there's proof of Trump doing a dozen times over. No right-winger who supports Trump has a shred of credibility left.

Anytime someone says something like this, you instantly know they're a clueless retard that gets their talking points from John Oliver.

He's had 3 chapter 11's on a failing business he purchased and one legit chapter 7 for one of his hundreds of business.

Call him sexist and shit all you want, but saying he's a bad businessman and he's declared bankruptcy just shows that you're totally fucking clueless.

Trump's supporters are dumb as a fucking rock. I hated Bush Jr. but he was at least surrounded by good people. So far all Trump has accomplished is threatened to make Mexico "pay" for a wall with a 20% import tax (rip vegetables and taking a shit once a day), and had his shitty travel ban temporarily undone. I'm still waiting to meet a Trump reporter I respect.

I really wish McCain ran again and I'm a pretty staunch democrat. He was at least founded in reality. A reincarnated Roosevelt running GOP would have lost to Obama after Bush Jr.

Great speaker and disrupted the 2 party system by being the first honesty campaign in the USA. Build the wall, fuck up Isis, and bring jobs back to our people. Don't want war but if attacked we slay the shit out of our enemies.

I have mixed opinions. I favor his immigration policies, but I disagree with his abortion stance. I am glad he's instituted a freeze on federal hiring and regulation, but I wish he wouldn't tweet so much. I liked his picks for Labor and Education Secretaries... not so hot on EPA head, and will reserve judgement on Tillerson. I like his SC nomination, who is probably the most moderate the Dems could hope for.
I would love to see the swamp drained, but kinda doubt he can/will do it.
I love the trolling he does, though. Whether it's driving SJWs into conniptions, telling John McCain to shut the fuck up, or black-balling CNN, the guy just tickles me.
The thing I hope for the most is that he stands by his campaign promises to keep us out of further regime change ventures in the Middle East. We'll see.

You realize the dems are done, right?

2018 class 1 is up for grabs, and they have to defend 10 fucking seats in states Trump won.
GoP has to defend 1.
And there are even more in swing states.

If dems lose one more state government, then gop can pass amendments. Say good bye to birther citizenship and your flood of free votes.

He's already mentioned national voter ID law.

Add on to the fact that the SCOTUS is now red for the next 30-40 years.

Some laws are unconstitutional. That's what this senior Bush appointee judge has found. This confirms my point that Trump does not know or understand the constitution.

>Who cares.
Well Trump needs Australia as an ally for the war he's about to start with China. Too bad that Australia doesn't want to cooperate any more.

>SA
South Africa? Wat?

You'll find too that Supreme Court judges care much more about the constitution than they do about the leanings of the president in any four-year period. They're not political hacks doing an autocrats bidding. The US is set up to prevent the legal system from being manipulated in this way.

The funny thing is that people who are freaking out about what he's doing have know he was doing it for a very long time as well. He's so far as I can tell been honest and up front, used very simple language to explain it all. Not because he's dumb or were dumb, but because if you can't explain something simply you don't really understand want you're doing. Be he does. And he wants his understanding of what he's doing to be easily given to all Americans across all spectrums.
>>
He's off to a great start. This country is so used to socialist faggotry that regular government looks like fascism now.
>>
>>721388188
I like Betsy DeVos because of her stances on charter schools and vouchers. This is something the education system needs, whether the teacher unions want it or not.
The Labor Secretary is a brilliant businessman who understands how regulation kills small business and innovation.
That's why I like those two. They're outsiders who are knowledgeable about the fields themelves without being part of the problem.
Sometimes more politicians isn't the answer. Some of the best leaders this country has ever had haven't been professional politicians, or even lawyers. They've been business-people, generals, even farmers....people who actually live in the real worlds and know how to solve problems.
Also, I would be in favor of abolishing the following departments: Energy, Education, Commerce, Labor, and the Small Business Administration. They do more harm than good.

Repeal and replace is a semi betrayal. Republican issues with the ACA that lead them to want to replace it, and Trump voters that want to replace it aren't the same. Voters don't like the high cost, and republicans have an ideological issue.

Meh, you're welcome to your opinion. It's because policy does NOT create itself that we need to cut some of the bureaucracy. I like Lincoln's take: "Government should do for people only what they cannot do better by themselves, and no more."
The Fed also needs to go, along with the TSA, Department of Homeland Security, National Endowment fo the Arts, and Public Broadcasting.
P.S. - Out of the 'basic fields' you mentioned, energy was the only one I put on the chopping block, and there is another agency that could handle nuclear. Energy is not needed, at least in its current form.

It's not though. Republicans didn't co-operate with Obama, didn't ever come out with thier great alternative, and now they have repealed it.

Thing is, a lot of people will end up uninsured or paying more. The Donald J. Trump™ plans for healthcare are not going to fix it or make it cost effective. Republicans have an ideological issue with it, and Trump supporters don't wanna be ripped off. We spend like 1/5th of GDPon healthcare, and it's shit for do many people. My cousin in the UK gets free dental care, and doesn't have to pay for shit, it comes in at like 9% for them.

If Trump came out with a public option that could actually reduce costs and cover everyone, I'll forgive him his crookekedness.

>It's not though. Republicans didn't co-operate with Obama

I remind of two things.
>A. Obama had large majorities in the house and senate for his first two years? Why did he sit on his hands if the GOP was going to fight him.
>B. Several house dems argued against the plan as well; this is why the bill was so gutted.

>Thing is, a lot of people will end up uninsured or paying more. The Donald J. Trump™ plans for healthcare are not going to fix it or make it cost effective. The solution is clear and it's the same issue with college. They need to address the costs themselves and have the government stop footing the bill.

They need to abolish state lines with competition, get rid of shit like fee for service, advocate for healthcare saving accounts.

>If Trump came out with a public option that could actually reduce costs and cover everyone, I'll forgive him his crookekedness.
That's all I ask really.

I don't care about the people who disagree with him, but the people who want him to fail are just the biggest faggots. Why the fuck would you want your country to fail?

As a white girl, all the dark skinned thugs of many creeds and beliefs scare the shit out of me. Radical muslim refugees, entitled niggers, and feminists are fucking insane too, they have a warped view on the gendered experience for males vs females.

So trump makes me feel relieved, like i'm gonna be okay. And maybe everything will be more fun and filled with possibilities for me, and maybe men will be more kind once they don't need to hold onto their MGTOW shit.

Economically, i'm sure things will pick up. Maybe i'll actually live in a nice place. Make america more like norway or denmark.

But at the same time, I've been fighting homelessness for a while, and trump doesn't give a damn about me in that regard. And i'm on foodstamps, which he might get rid of. And I'm on state healthcare, i only work part time.

So i'm just not sure about trump. But i'm sure everything will be fine. Politically, i'm a Libertarian Transhumanist / Agorist of sorts.

I like that trump is kinda like "you gotta take care of your own first", but I always appealed to anarchist schools of thought and I gave alot of public lectures to promote an open border and stuff.

I'm sure everything will be fine.

Also repealing all the banking regs from 2008 - that just seems like a disastrous move.

I don't know if you noticed, but congress has been passing rules so that certain committees CAN'T tell the public things. So like, the OMB has to review and report on ALL major changes that are proposed. Some follow up:

While the president says he has walked away from the day-to-day operations of his business, two people close to him are the named trustees and have broad legal authority over his assets: his eldest son, Donald Jr., and Allen H. Weisselberg, the Trump Organization’s chief financial officer. Mr. Trump, who will receive reports on any profit, or loss, on his company as a whole, can revoke their authority at any time.

What’s more, the purpose of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust is to hold assets for the “exclusive benefit” of the president. This trust remains under Mr. Trump’s Social Security number, at least as far as federal taxes are concerned.

I don't think opinions can really be neutral besides declaring yourself as uncaring, but here's my not-strongly-worded-or-ground-breaking opinion on Trump. I'll also preface this with the note that I didn't vote for president this time around. This election was the first I was allowed to vote in (17 and 8 months for the one before) and I didn't feel like any of the candidates addressed any of the issues that effect me or the people I care about.

All that out of the way, I can appreciate Trump for causing a total meltdown on the liberal side. Watching videos of rich, snooty, college age bitches crying all over each other and screaming about how they were going to kill themselves was hilarious. However, we're now a few months into knowing the outcome of the election and people are still fucking complaining. If there's one way this election has effected me at all, it's done so in showing me how completely biased the media I regularly absorb is.

>Why are you for deregulation and his SCJ pick

Because most regulations don't actually protect consumers, labor, or the environment they serve the interests of huge crony corporations with good lobbyists, preserve monopolies, stifle out smaller competition and ultimately hinder economic growth. There are good regulations of course; but we have thousands and thousands of regulations and only a fraction of them are worth keeping.

News outlets and shows that I used to believe were neutral now shock me in how one sided they are. More shocking than their bias though is the way they go about trying to sway your opinion. I've started noticing patterns in news reports. Nothing schizo, my tv isn't talking to me or anything, but the way people present news seems so calculated. I can't think of an actual example at the moment, but if I were to provide one it would look something like
>local doctors at the blah blah blah research center are cheering up kids by doing such and such

Newfag here. When talking ACA, everyone loves to shit on Trump about repeal/replace. I say tough fucking shit. I've had health insurance on and off for years because of political shift. I lived.

My last job provided free health insurance to all employees as a union benefit. ACA goes into effect, company convinces union to withdraw health insurances as a benefit. Everyone's hours got cut, and anyone who had insurance that was a part timer lost it. I had to kiss my boss's ass and do jobs nobody else wanted to do in order to be worth 30+ hours and get insurance back. I was the ONLY person in my department outside of a supervisor that could boast such a "privledge".

So, in addition to many people losing health insurance, they are getting paid less, because all the big box jobs are intentionally giving everybody under 30 hours so they don't have to pay for health insurance per ACA. It's the same for new hires. People are now moor poor.

I got a new, better job. Guess what? That means I lost my insurance. Again. I worked my ass off to get promoted to a full time spot at this new non-union job and have just recently got health insurance back. Even without the union, the game is the same. They will do everything in their power to keep your hours down unless you're a restless, ass kissing maniac. And there's usually only room for one. Nobody talks about this one though.

So, from my perspective, so long as Trump and the republicans can eventually fix the problem with healthcare, I frankly don't give a fuck about what happens in between. Boo fucking hoo. We worker bees are used to it by now.

I see deregulation as being completely pro-corporate, pro-monopoly, anti- "the common people". Corps don't give a fuck about people, and left unchecked are about the greatest threat to individual liberty I can imagine.

I do see how they can stifle smaller companies that try to compete ( for example dealing with some EPA regulations ).

Yeah I need obamacare too. Wife had a transplant, I'm on meds - no one will fucking cover us. We are both self employed. Not sure what to do.

Have you priced our your drugs bying overseas? That is what I did when I didn't have insurance. But that way if you get hit by a car you are covered.. and buy your meds overseas / canada.

It depends on what you deregulate. Thinking about regulations as universally good or bad is irrational and sadly that tends to be the approach many people take.

As I said there are regulations that protect labor, consumers and the environment; but I'd say those account for at best maybe 20 or 30% of our regulations.

Most of them just keep people from starting small businesses and competing with the big boys. For example I saw a case where a woman wanted to teach people a class on how to apply makeup for plays and the state said she needed to pay $150,000 for a license to open a cosmetology college. Then there's the case of the FDA regulating Vape shops out of existence.

Close the border, minimize costs of government overall, increase military man-power and provide care for veterans who properly earned it.

Secondary to those: make trade deals nationally to allow more business jobs in the US, work towards opening the us passport to other countries for longer durations(japan for example), and generally lower or simplify taxes across the board.

I personally see some benefits financial and alliance wise in helping other countries with IT data and power infrastructure in many parts of the world, as well as aid to countries who need it can be done cheaply and do wonders for public image as a country. Oh and bolster the us-japan security treaty as it benefits us to have bases near s.e asia for many reasons.

Some of this isn't being discussed but hey we got 4 years to work this out.

Absolutely unbiased, objective observation here.

Fist, let's get out of the way that he won on his own merits. He didn't. He won the Republican primary because he wasn't Jeb Bush, and he used every bit of his airtime up to the Iowa caucus making fun of and berating Bush. It helps that many americans don't really want a political dynasty of three people from the same family, and let's be honest, Jeb might be the most expensive crayon in the box but he's not the smartest. It was a brilliant strategy, because the RNC but ever single egg they had into the Jeb Bush basket and after he got trashed in Iowa there was no clear secondary candidate to rally behind. There was thoughts of an upset at the convention but it didn't manifest, so he easily got the nomination.

Flip to his opponent, Clinton. Believe what you want about Republican propaganda, but the simple fact is this lady, even if she didn't do anything wrong, is shady as fuck. Her foundation, her husband meeting the AG by accident on the eve of her possible indictment, 'extreme carelessness'....then you had real, solid proof of the DNC rigging the primary drop the week before the convention, and instead of fessing up they ignored it and forced her nomination anyway, completely eliminating their support from a newly mobilized group of young and independent voters that wanted to turn the party from corporate globalism to really anything else.

It's a long winded way of saying Trump is President right now because the other candidates he went up against were trash.

Now, here's some facts: he's pro-business, but specifically american business, and that pushes a lot of his agenda. Science denial (bad), neutering the EPA and Parks service (bad), withdrawing from TPP (objectively good), renegotating NAFTA (arguable but probably more good than anything), changing H1-B visas (extremely good), deregulation all go under this. I think it's too early to tell the impacts to citizens from this.

I live in Georgia, we have a population in Atlanta that has a huge problem with illegal workers and construction, labor, driving, and even skilled technician fields get taken by illegals simply cause they can do the job cheaper...

I noticed this working concrete pouring, road work jobs, gutters and metal roofing, and as a certified electrician, it's not that the illegals are dangerous or mean or feared but more or less they are making a substantial part of our workforce and sending the money back to Mexico tack that with drugs and possibility of easy entrance by people via Mexico who could do us harm and it quickly becomes a big deal for alot of people...

Same poster.

Unfortunately, that's where the good pretty much ends. He's got Bannon in on pretty much everything (that guy.....has said some real shit.) He's pro religion in politics as you'd expect from a Republican, which isn't great. He'll support a pro-life agenda which is objectively bad but subjectively ambiguous. His cabinet picks are complete and utter trash with the exception of Mattis, undisputable. It really seems he just sold the spots at auction. Rick Perry for energy? DeVos for Edu? That other science denier for the EPA? You can't make a good argument for them.

A wall? Objectively bad idea. It's expensive and ineffective. But props to him for delivering on the campaign promise.

Muslim ban? Objectively, it's good. We probably son't need more Muslims over here, see Europe for the nationalist conservative fervor over there because they are beginning to lose their ways of life. From an objective standpoint we can see the same thing here eventually. Where he's messed up is he didn't ban ALL the Muslim countries, just ones that aren't friends with the Saudis. So overall, bad move.

The whole Israel thing, threatening to leave the UN if they aren't allowed their way, is bad. The whole Israel-Palestine thing needs to be resolved ASAP, and as much as I'd love to see Palestine wiped off the map personally a compromise must be met and Israel needs to obey the UN laws as an occupying power until then.

I'm sure I missed something but nobody cares so i'll stop typing now.

Pardon? I'd dare to say that even my big box, shady ass bosses would call me anything but a parasite for the kind of work I put in dude.

I don't understand your point, because if I were working for your small business in a world without ACA, you'd be under no obligation to provide me insurance as a benefit if I'm not mistaken. And if you were now, that's all the more reason you'd want to see ACA gone and make sure that my work would be well worth your money, which it would be. Sounds to me like you just hate having to pay employees. Maybe you should cut back on your work load so you can afford to fire some people, or give up get a day job.

Exactly, I dont have an issue with people, or people that work for cheap. My issue is when the illegals come in and have an entire crew for 25/h and I cost 14-16/h and they would rather hire sketched out workers whom will hide or run from liability because they are illegals...

And its not fair to anyone that I have paycheck taxes and they don't because they get paid cash, it makes for illegitimate business, dangerous workers(in some cases, less than 15%), and liability that cant be founded by illegal workers but could get pined on me when a steel roof panel falls and kills someone.

pic is about 60' in the air on a big-slide funnel(for outset windows) where moments later an illegal collapsed and slid into me nearly knocking both of us off the roof... Fucking idiots don't bring water and I've saved at least 2 in the 6 months I was working for that company.

So i guess I'm in the middle, if they do the job right and safely then i don't fucking care where they are from or their culture, my issue is that I get replaced with two of them for a few bucks less and I can't even work in some places because they prefer Hispanic workers, I was 1 of 4 English speakers at that company, 2 of the 4 were fluent in Spanish(including the owner). So it made for a difficult training enviroment and alot of saftey stuff was totally ignored and nearly caused accidents on a regular basis.

Hammers and tools dropped, 80+lb panels thrown from roof with razor sharp edges, hell even a 2' corner piece would easily slice 5-6 inches down your shoulder, arm or back if it hit you from 10' or higher up.

Not to mention having 4 guys balance strait vertical a 60' 230lbs 4 section ladder while someone climbs in to lower the higher portions(equipment did not have a usable pulley system for lowering, or stability legs)

so its a mixture, its not the people demographic, its the pay-rates, non-compliance with safety, and language barrier that really hits me. but thats all part of business, nothing personal, If I could cut costs and get it done I would, but not at the expense of fellow Americans first.
