They associate a man's height with leadership. It's evolutionary. If you're short, find other ways to make up for it and impress someone. Spend every minute of your life trying to make that one person who's worth it feel special. You only get so many years. Might as well spend it falling in love and enjoying every emotion associated with it.

My lab is located in a hospital that luckily has decent cafeteria food discounted for employees. I eat most of my meals there, but breakfasts at weekend dinners at home. Breakfasts usually involve a bowl of cereal and some fruit. 3 of the people I work with just moved here from Italy to continue their studies, and they're teaching me how to be a better cook. Admittedly, I'm not the best, but I try to make things taste good. I bbq a mean steak though.
>>
>>720973907
Sorry, but we're many, many years away from something like this. We don't even know exactly how neurons hook up so that we can walk or breath, which are controlled by relatively few neurons, let alone the entire cerebral cortex. look up central pattern generators. although there are probably some functional imaging studies that might show entire areas of the brain when someone thinks about something in particular

Yes. Best assignment I ever did was actually in my environmental law elective during undergrad. The class was dumb, for the final project we were assigned groups like a month before the end of class. On the last day we basically had a mock court against the other team, and an actual judge friend of the prof came in to assign grades, but only the people who wanted to present had to. So I was the only one in my group who wanted to. The case we were assigned was to represent a college professor who developped lung cancer after working in a building that was later found to have asbestos and to sue the university. I tracked down the people defending the university when they met to work on the project at the library and suckered them into a settlement that was not fair at all. We had no evidence that the asbestos caused the cancer, but I was able to get 80% of the current estimated value of human life.

How do you feel about endogenous opioid deficiency syndrome? Real or Nah?

Wondering because I use a full agonist every day and I feel normal. I don't like to be high. But life was miserable when sober. Depression and anxiety and SAD completely cured with a daily dose of opi's that' stable day to day. Suboxone, a partial agonist, worked somewhat, but never alleviated symptoms entirely. Besides the opi's I have a gf, decent job in IT, family, friends, and attend NA as well as hobbies and interests. What I'm trying to say is that I have a fulfilling and full life above and beyond being a degenerate drug user, and I'm fairly stable.

I have a very limited understanding of how neurons function, but would like to know more. I have a specific question.

I know neurons receive neurotransmitters from neighboring neurons, which can lead to an action potential where they fire off neurotransmitters of their own. My question is: Do neurons fire neurotransmitters they received from other neurons or do they make their own? If they make their own, what do they do with the received neurotransmitters?
