>>720663430 Dexterity. I don't really have any interest in the Mother orb. It's tough to think of anything I'd like to do LESS than relive an existence here. I mean that both in the depressive sense, but also in the sense that the only things truly beautiful in this life are fleeting. Eventually you'd just get tired. Memory? Almost. I like that one, but the tradeoffs are too potentially negative. Dexterity, though - use that shit to master an instrument and become a fucking legend. Live the rockstar life.
>>720663430 >orb of mother >every time i'm about to die I reset my life >begin compiling more and more knowledge about the world >reset hundreds of times >eventually become a world renowned super genius with an intimate knowledge of all things >reset my life yet again >reveal myself at age 5 as a child prodigy sent by god to give unto man the knowledge of the universe >amass a cult of millions of followers by revealing the miracles of the world and by accurately predicting future events >declare holy war on the entire world >use my superior knowledge that I have amassed over hundreds of lives worth of compilation to design and build advanced armor/weapons >take over the entire world >use my intimate knowledge of human physiology to cure all diseases, snip out bad genes, and become biologically immortal >essentially break the downside, live in a massive super fortress surrounded by loyal followers >take my most loyal followers, bestow immortality among them, build a massive terraforming craft in orbit, leave and terraform the moon >before I leave I order all records of myself and every other earth government completely destroyed >build a huge, self sustaining advanced colony on the moon >live off earth for thousands of years until new governments have formed >wait for the equivalent of a world war to start >descend on the earth in a massive space ship >reveal myself as god, my now immortal followers as my angels >tell the current people I am disatisfied with their leadership, reassume control over the human race >choose new followers to bestow immortality upon >rinse and repeat for Eons until sufficient technological advancements have been made that allow humans to instantly warp across the galaxy >warp into dark space between clusters and build an artificial solar system for the human race to exist in forever, even after the known universe has succumb to entropy >lord peacefully over all life forever as a living god
>>720663430 >orb of the mother >be baby >be conscious of everything with your newborn brain >contemplate life and existence as a baby >be the most autistic baby ever >get diagnosed with psychosis >end up in psyche ward >never achieve anything as a psycho baby
> doesn't make you strong > master a skill in a matter of minutes
In almost every olympic sport you'll need strength and the physicial build you need for one sport won't get you far in the other. Also it states that you can master a skill in minutes, nowhere it states that you can become the best at it. Some people can master skills quickly but kinda suck at specializing.
>>720670013 There's a shit ton of flaws in that plan. Humans are designed to die so the circle of life and evolutions can continue. Our psych isn't made to live forever. All the things you see and experience would slowly break you down to insanity. Also, knowledge is power and power is corruption. That does not only apply to you, but also to your "loyal" followers. Then, the only thing that would increase over time would be your knowledge which can still be blown away by a bullet or sliced by a knife. Dexterity provides a high chance to prevent both.
>>720663430 Since the orb of memory doesn't actually state that you remember things you're taught with perfect clarity, only the things you remember, I would have to go with the orb of dexterity as it offers no actual drawback to speak of.
>>720663430 >orb of memory >never be able to forget anything traumatic Gee, it's like you don't know why I drink/smoke weed >Orb of the Mother >reset your life from the day you were born You want me to live through the 80's and 90's again? To have a Commodore 64 when I still remember my PSP? To re-live We Are The World, WHOOMP THERE IT IS and LImp Bizkit over and over? FUCK YOU.
Give me the Orb Of Dexterity, the other two are curses.
>>720670820 You are reset to an infant retaining all of your memories, so essentially you are restored into a pristine new body every time you reset. Your mind isn't aged at all.
We aren't "designed" to die, we're designed to reproduce so that when we do eventually die, the species doesn't die with us.
And when I said my most loyal followers, I really meant it. Only the most fanatical, loyal, diehard followers would be allowed to come with me, and even then they wouldn't possess the knowledge that I do. They would be just normal humans who were completely devoted to me from birth who I would make immortal.
Other than that i'd have to be safe in my early years. If I got stabbed and was about to die I could just instantly reset before I bled out. The only way it's really going to stop is if I get instantly shot in the head. The problem with that, however, is that I'd have to reset up to that point. My entire plan would go to nothing if I had to reset when I was 12 years old or something.
Once I obtained immortality however I would never have to worry, and since I could rely on events unfolding in my life relatively uniform to how they did before the reset I could predict things like betrayals by my followers and prevent them before they happened.
>>720671227 eventually, bad luck will happen to you and you'll be forced to reset at an incredibly young age because you could've died in for example, a plane crash.
Your life will get shorter and shorter, anything you did in your previous life doesn't matter because it all gets forgotten, eventually you reset repeatably at the age of 3, and then at the age of 7 months, eventually, you reset at the age of 1 minute. At that point you just know, you just know, you didn't have any impact at all in life.
At that point you realize, that you should've died at an older age so what you did actually stays permanent.
I'm a writer (rather, a wanna-be writer), and my issue is putting to paper ideas I have, because i quickly forget what exactly what the "good idea that I had half an hour ago" was. So having this pinpoint, accurate memory would be awesome.
As for the consequences of remembering shitty events. Well, guess I'd channel that into my writing as well.
>>720671667 >remembering when your mom dies >remembering when some adult diddled you as a child with crystal clear quality >remembering the countless times you got bullied >remembering all the cringey shit you did >remembering her
>>720671554 I could literally live to be 90 years old and then reset one minute before the last. Just record the date and time of the initial reset and the resets after that.
I could reset thousands of times.
Avoid danger, and if you understand the description of the mother orb you know that you are simply re-living your life. Things happen in relatively the same order that they did before.
So if I did the exact same things I did on reset A, on monday of 2002 at 10:46 AM of reset B the exact thing is going to happen that happened on reset A.
Slight variations of course, since i'm doing things differently. Just don't get on any planes, be careful where you walk, don't do dangerous shit. Honestly the first few resets would be used amassing knowledge to make me rich or some shit so that I could just live in security after that while I amassed more and more knowledge.
i'm not saying it's without risk. You could die at any moment from an elevator collapsing or even a piece of metal falling off a high place and striking you in the head, killing you instantly. Is it a 100% plan? Absolutely not. Nothing is 100% in the universe. But if it worked and I got to the stage where I could make myself immortal, I would be untouchable. Everything would proceed as planned from that point on.
>>720670013 I thought about this plan as well. But as I understand the mother orb, if you reset af say 75, you will die at 75 in your next life, no matter what. So you wouldn't be able to make yourself immortal, even if you developed the technology for it.
>>720671511 That's even better, you know exacly into what invest, when the .com bubble will happen, when, and why 2007 housing bubble will happen, all future bubbles. You can try and change that if you want, of just get filthy, filthy rich each and every time.
>>720672244 Well they'd just be normal people, but they'd be immortal. They'd be like my "angels", but in reality they'd just be people to help me research new fields, discover new things, acquire more knowledge, and help maintain the moon fortress.
>>720672318 I figured that meant "this is when you're fated to die"
So I thought "If I make myself immortal I obviously won't be able to die" unless the power of the orb literally just saps the life out of you.
If that was the case, I could always discover immortality and then transplant my ego and consciousness into a new, immortal body, maybe even a computer. I wouldn't have the power of the mother orb, but I'd still be immortal.
Perhaps I could make an immortal clone of myself, find a way to copy all of my knowledge into his mind, essentially painting him a picture of myself, and then when I die at least he would remain to lead in my stead.
>>720670013 >across the globe chaos is spread by the loyal followers of the self proclaimed Prometheus child who bears the power of the mother orb in the palm of his hand >in his unending ambition he sews chaos and destruction wherever his reach extends >he thirst for knowledge unquenchable >2 men stand up to stop him, both equally powerful in their own rights >Traven, the one who bears the Memory Orb, unforgetting and ever vigilant, and Michael, the one who bears the Dexterity orb with skills in battle unmatched by any living being >to penetrate the fortress of the mother orb is no easy task. Having stolen the schematics from the builders, Michael hands them over to Traven >"can you read them?" >"yes" he responds, glancing over the schematics but for a faint second. "I've memorized them in detail" >"good, then let's get to it, before he departs" >the two hasten to the fortress with the best of the resistence in tow >Traven guides the resistence members through a small ventilation shaft, unguarded and unknown to Prometheus >"allow me to take care of the guards" >michael descends on the men patrolling the halls, dispatching them without a sound >"alright let's go" >"wait" >Traven grabs Michael >"one more step, you would have tripped the entire alarm system and locked us in here to die" >Traven reveals a small pressure plate, no more the size of an ant >"that memory of yours is amazing" >proceeding to the throne room, no lock or guard patrol can stop them >hacking the sophisticated locked door was an easy task for he who bears the Dexterity orb >the door to the throne room opens, Prometheus sits on his throne, alone Continued...
>>720674891 >"we've got you cornered Prometheus. You can't evade us, and we've already taken care of all your guards. It's over. The mother orb can't save you" >"oh really?" >suddenly the doors shut behind them >"what is this?" >"it's a shame that memory can't transfer post-death Traven. Perhaps you could recall all the other times we've done this dance" >"what do you mean!?" Michael shouted >"did you honestly think you could stop me? I hold the power of the Mother orb. Mortality means nothing to me. You've failed every time you've tried, and this time isn't any different" >"We've walked right into a trap" >"that you have" >gunfire was heard outside the door >"what's going on?" >"your allies are being slaughtered by my angels. Time after time, they've endured their death, over multiple lifetimes. It's futile to try to kill me. Why not join me? I could make you immortal, and you could serve me for eternity as we continued onward into a brighter futu-" >his chest was tight. He looked down to see the knife lodged in his chest >"it's not that hard to hit a standing target from this distance, especially if you control the Dexterity orb" >his blood left him, as did the rest of his thoughts >"any last words, your lordship?" >"see you in 30 years" >a bright light, screaming, and the smell of a sterilized room >"it's a boy"
