Been a main healer for the last dozen years or so. It's not always about submissiveness or subservience, as the healer in a group (2-7) I'm one of, if not the single, most important members. I decide if the group lives or dies, I direct the group. Most players will tell you "tanks make the best leaders", when really a healer who knows all roles is the ideal leader.

Whenever i play her i always get this major sense of needing to just please everyone on the team and just feel really submissive.

Yeah, I may try it one day in the future if I have a friend that plays it but I don't go on Steam too much now days so I'm not sure if any of them do play it (though I'd assume some would).

One thing that I kinda disliked from the get-go was that most characters only had one weapon and their abilities made up for the other "weapons", and I really liked having multiple and sometimes versatile weapons in TF2 to use in different situations, but I suppose the abilities are a bit more geared towards that. Maybe it's just a bit of me being used to the way TF2 played, but I haven't played OW so I guess I can't really judge much very well.

There are two types of healer players, submissive supporters (usually being women or gay males who just want to help) and then people that realize what a healer really is. The healer is the one person on your team that you HAVE to have good rapport with. Being a less twitchy class also affords them more time to think, type, and strategize. That does make sense. I've found the micromanagement to be enjoyable. My OCD tendencies kick in hard when I see a low health bar. I like the appreciation I get when I play well, too. I guess it just takes all kinds of mindsets to make a team oriented game fun in that way.
